Introduction to role
This individual will play a key role in supporting the Business Operations organization specifically around master data management and will be responsible for continuously improving Commercial data quality and data management operational capabilities. Under minimal supervision, the Manager of master data management will ensure operational efficiencies and data quality for all business aspects of US Healthcare Organization (HCO) and Professional (HCP) data within Alexion ecosystem. The individual must be confident, communicate well and be able to effectively collaborate across all commercial functions.
Accountabilities
- Support master data operations, encompassing HCO & HCP data stewardship, affiliation management, and continuous improvement of data quality and processes.
- Create and update data flow diagrams, procedures, and requirements to support data management processes and projects.
- Collaborate closely with offshore data stewardship team to ensure timely completion of work and fulfillment of service requests in accordance with established procedures.
- Support and maintain US MDM Operations SharePoint site to keep track of data quality reports and ensure data is cleansed periodically.
- Understand relationships between datasets in MDM to run SQL scripts that help identify data gaps, perform data scrubbing, and complete necessary work.
- Monitor MDM data processing alerts and interface health, resolving synchronization issues between systems.
- Develop and maintain MDM process specific SOPs and operations documentation.
- Perform SQL queries in Commercial Data Lake and MDM to support the data work involved in GPO, REMS, Congress/HCP events, and Medi-spend reporting.
- Interact with sales operations leads, CRM, reporting and iPatient teams to obtain, document and track data requirements in JIRA and deliver data extracts.
- Perform user acceptance testing for system enhancements and provide systemic support.
- Monitor and fix vendor data feeds to ensure continuous data availability.
- Collaborate with IT on projects, system enhancements, and process improvements.
- Contribute to master data governance and ensure timely completion of business partner work.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all master data stewardship operations and handle ad-hoc data extract requests.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Ability to analyze and improve systems and processes to ensure accurate and reliable data
- Knowledge and hands-on application of database technologies (SQL, Snowflake etc.)
- Ability to understand key master data elements and enrich such data and make it available to the business
- Confidence and ability to understand business needs and solve queries related to master data
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with diverse functions
- Strong analytical and organization skills, capable of managing multiple requests simultaneously
- Desire and ability to learn/implement new tools and capabilities
- Meticulous, motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or other quantitative discipline
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Implementation and maintenance of master data management systems, strong knowledge on master data and related data sets etc.
- Experience with Veeva applications and reference data, including Network and Open Data
- 3+ years of experience in Data Management/Governance, Business Analytics and/or Financial Analysis, preferably in the biotech/pharma industry
- Prior experience in rare disease
