Position Overview
The Medical Office-Population Health Intern will assist in the execution of daily assignments supporting the Senior Medical Officer—Population Health and other members of the Screening Business Unit (SBU) Medical Office. The position is intended to be a hands-on learning opportunity for a Masters’ level individual interested in public health, data analysis, and community/population health initiatives. The intern will gain valuable experience in health promotion, project management, and working in interdisciplinary teams.
Essential Duties
include but are not limited to the following:
- Enable Exact Sciences’ SBU to help address population and placed-based disparities related to colorectal cancer screening with Cologuard and other diagnostic tests.
- Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of data related to population health metrics, such as morbidity rates, social determinants of health, and health equity or social vulnerability indicators.
- Conduct literature reviews and research on best practices in population health, health disparities, and community health improvement strategies.
- Assist in designing and preparing educational bibliographies, presentations, and reports for various population health initiatives.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs (Field Medical, Health Equity, Advocacy and Health Economics and Outcomes Research) and Corporate Affairs to support health interventions and initiatives for target populations.
- Participate in the planning and execution of health events, such as screenings, wellness fairs, and health education workshops.
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of population health programs and interventions.
- Provide administrative support to the Population Health team, including data entry, project coordination, and meeting organization.
- Engage with community partners other external stakeholders to understand community health needs and gather input on program development.

- Regular and reliable attendance, both remote and in person (as needed).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, Communications, Management, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Marketing, or field as outlined in the essential duties.
- Completed first year of Master level programming with focus in Population Health or Medicine, Implementation Science, Market Research, Marketing, Project or Product Management, Healthcare, or General Management.
- Proficient computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Salary Range:
$34,000.00 - $54,000.00The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis.
