We are currently seeking a Senior Cloud Solution Architect*.
We are looking for an experienced cloud solution architect* that supports our international customers moving and modernizing their Adabas and Natural applications from on-prem platforms to the cloud. Collaborating in a multi-stakeholder environment with multiple Cloud Hyperscalers, Partners, Product Management and R&D engineering, and other departments.
Essential functions

Provide technical leadership to guide and support international Adabas & Natural customers in modernizing and transforming their enterprise applications into a cloud architecture. Resolve complex cloud transformation challenges.

Lead the design of cloud architecture blueprints (Azure, AWS, GCP) for Adabas & Natural applications, including the transformation/rehosting from on-prem infrastructures (e.g., Linux, IBM z) to the cloud.

Collaborate with cloud Hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP) to jointly engineer and document cloud architectures to provide guidance to customers on how to develop, deploy and run applications environments under mission-critical aspects, such as security, high-availability, recovery, sizing, scalability, and performance.

Support customers in cloud rehosting projects on various project phases (assessment, prototype, rehosting, testing, etc.) within a multi stakeholder collaboration environment (e.g., presales, professional services, system integrator, cloud Hyperscalers).

Collect and review customer requirements and translate them into features backlogs managed by product management.

Mentor and train people on cloud technologies needed to “lift and shift” (rehost) Adabas and Natural applications to the cloud, e.g., presales, professional services, support, sales, partners, customers.

Work closely across cross-functional teams (e.g., product management, engineering, solution architects) to drive, coordinate and deliver cloud-readiness capabilities and cross-product architectures.

Observe and fully understand relevant cloud market trends and services relevant to transform and operate full-stack enterprise applications in the cloud.

Communicate and showcase product cloud capabilities through multiple channels (e.g., Webinars, Events, Social Media, Blogs, Communities/user groups) working closely with product marketing.
Minimum requirements
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional) with strong hands-on experience is highly desirable.

5+ years' experience in architecting, developing and deploying enterprise-class full stack applications to the Cloud (e.g., Adabas & Natural, COBOL). With proven experience in database, application, development (DevOps) and integration (e.g., API, Microservices, Events) technologies.

Prior experience and deep knowledge in designing and implementing cloud application architectures in context of cloud-native principles.

Proven experience in one or more cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and application related cloud services (e.g., virtual machines, container, Kubernetes, networks/gateways, security, file/storage, databases, load balancer, monitoring, availability zones, DevOps).

Experience working with cloud Hyperscalers, understanding their offerings, and leveraging their services to enhance cloud architectures and solutions.

In-depth knowledge and strong experience in Linux scripting, virtual machines and container technologies.

Extensive hands-on tool knowledge to setup, configure, script, automate, provision, test, run and monitor cloud infrastructures on Linux.

Knowledge about DevOps development practices and tool chains (e.g., Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, Git, CI/CD, Jenkins, Jira)

Effective communication and presentation skills (verbal, written) in English to convey technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to troubleshoot and solve complex tasks.

Experience in designing and implementing cloud solution architectures.

Willingness to travel and work abroad to support customers globally, as well as strong social competence skills within in-person and online interactions.
