IT Senior Project Manager - Accounts Receivable
Reporting to: IT Programme Manager, Operations
Location : Porto, Portugal
Type of contract- 9 months maternity cover
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced IT Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end management of IT projects across Accounts Receivable business domains. In this position, you will participate in and transform business cases raised by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) into an executable transformation roadmap. As the Senior Project Manager, you will be fully responsible for delivering IT projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals. Success in this role demands strong soft skills, business acumen, and technical expertise, with payments domain knowledge as a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Define, plan, and execute the IT transformation roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company's long-term strategy
- Collaborate with business product management, senior leadership, internal and external stakeholders to deliver a robust IT platform that supports the organization's strategic objectives
- Lead the transformation of business cases from the SLT into actionable IT projects that align with the overall transformation roadmap
- Own and manage the IT project roadmap, ensuring deliverables are prioritized based on business needs and maximum value
- Lead cross-functional teams, including technical and business stakeholders, to ensure timely and successful project delivery
- Assess and understand project value, and execute trade-off analyses to keep projects on track
- Ensure proactive communication and collaboration with all stakeholders, from C-level executives to project team members
- Solve project-related challenges, make decisions, and apply creative solutions to meet business needs.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Experience in customer payments, credit card processing, bank reconciliations and collections is highly valued
- Relevant IT project management experience, with a strong track record of delivering technology-driven business solutions
- BSc in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required; MSc or above preferred
- Excellent English listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Experience managing large-scale IT transformation projects, preferably in global organizations
- Expertise in project management methodologies, with demonstrated success in delivering projects using different frameworks
- Strong business acumen with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and business teams
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills, with proven experience working with senior stakeholders
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic insights based on data and project outcomes
- Experience in product management, creating roadmaps, and defining minimum viable products (MVPs)
- Strong soft skills, including collaboration, active listening, and relationship management across internal teams
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment (often a distributed virtual team)
- Experience of working in a global and multi-cultural environment and have appetite for fast-paced organizations with global delivery / reach
- Payments or Accounts Receivable systems experience is a plus
