Software Engineering Manager – AI / ML (Recommender Systems)

About the Role
As a Software Engineering Manager – AI / ML (Recommender System) you will:
- Drive the technical implementation of solutions to ensure it meets business, product, and recommender system expectations using machine learning
- Lead machine learning solutions development of one or more teams including configuration and integration
- Contribute and guide the team in machine learning best practices, technical standards, model designs, and quality management in all work including conducting source code reviews
- Manage the technical deliverables, contribute to technical design, and provide technical oversight
- Build proof of concepts and provide implementation guidance
- Develop, maintain, and document representative models for internal customers
- Provide technical remediation and resolution of technical issues
- Prepare solution development estimates including technical planning, refinement, and dependencies
- Work in a collaborative team-oriented environment, share information, and value diverse ideas
- Provide technical expertise, mentor, and motivate team members
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, innovation and deployment
- Collaborate with various cross functional and product teams, Business segments, internal/external technical experts, Architects and third parties including scope, requirements, solution, data, and services
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain a cadence of communication about their adoption trends, sentiment, and opportunities for deeper engagement
About You
You are an ideal fit for the role of a Software Engineering Manager – AI / ML (Recommender Systems) if you have:
- 8+ years in real-world ML problem-solving and Recommender Systems
- Experience in people management
- Expertise in data processing, ML systems, MLOps, and infrastructure
- 3+ years with cloud tech (AWS preferred), DevOps/MLOps, and security
- Hands-on with multi-tenant ML products
- Strong skills in Python, SQL, and data modeling (DBT is a plus)
- Familiar with Spark, Airflow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Pandas, Keras
- Experience leading customer engineering teams in ML adoption
