The Senior Manager Tax will be responsible for managing the direct tax position of the group in different countries and will partner with the finance teams to manage the period end close process.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
• The Senior Manager Tax will be responsible for managing the direct tax position of the group in different countries in EMEA and Asia and will partner with the finance teams to manage the period end close process
• Additionally, he/she will become a pivotal member of the tax team and work collaboratively with the Executive Director Tax and Senior Manager VAT on a variety of ad-hoc projects whilst promoting awareness across the business
• The Senior Manager Tax reports to the Executive Director Tax
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage ad hoc tax projects from assessment to implementation
• Provide direct tax advice to business and finance teams
• Clarify direct tax treatment of new transactions and identify tax obligations linked to activities in new markets and document them
• Monitor and analyze proposed and newly enacted tax legislation, administrative position, rulings, court cases, for matters that impact the direct tax position of the company, and propose strategic action steps as needed, balancing risk mitigation with costs to the business
• Oversee and accountable for the direct tax compliance process including:
o Developing, improving, and documenting direct tax compliance processes and controls
o Ensuring timely submission and accuracy of direct tax filings prepared by external advisors
o Documenting direct tax registration status and filing position of different group entities in various countries
o Implement tax technology solutions where relevant to drive efficiency and transparency
• Manage tax audits
• Partner with Finance Team for the administration of period end close process, overseeing direct tax accrual process and ensuring relevant deadlines are met
• Work effectively with internal and external auditors
• Collaborate with external tax advisors
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
• 8-10+ years of total work experience in the areas of international Tax
• Experience with complex tax structures
• Comfortable with the preparation of financial modelling
• Possesses and demonstrates real analytical skills and can apply a logical approach to new challenges
• Be a strong communicator and possess an ability to develop trusting and credible relationships at all levels of the business and across various teams
• Have a questioning and inquisitive mind - not afraid to ask questions or challenge convention, nor to drive improvements and efficiencies as appropriate
• Be flexible and adaptable, understand the overall goals of the team and actively seek to help achieve them
• Willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and perform original work
• Solutions-oriented mindset
• Ambitious, enthusiastic and looking to progress within a reputable and fast moving organization
• Excellent English skills (written & verbal), German is a plus
• Stress resistant, calm under pressure, team player and with a positive appearance
• Must be able to work independently
EDUCATION
• Certified Swiss tax expert (or equivalent) is a plus

• Experience in the cruise industry is an asset
