Director, Treasury Lead

VF Corporation is looking for an exceptional Director, Treasury Lead to join our company based in Stabio, Switzerland.

As the Treasury Lead for the EMEA region, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing treasury strategies. Collaborating closely with the central treasury team in the United States, you will identify improvements and drive initiatives to optimize EMEA treasury operations and support VF initiatives.  Your responsibilities include maximizing cash flow, developing cash concentration, facilitating repatriation, minimizing FX risk, and managing a global multicurrency cash pool. Your goal is to enhance liquidity management, mitigate risk, and optimize financial resources to support organizational growth and stability. The ideal candidate will possess proven treasury experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and a deep understanding of international financial markets

You will be asked to work closely with other VF stakeholders including operational teams, legal, tax, and US and APAC treasury.

Primary responsibilities:

1.           Operational Delivery

  • Develop treasury operations to ensure effective monitoring and management of EMEA cash, investments, debt, foreign exchange, treasury reporting and accounting and other treasury-related activities
  • In conjunction with Global Treasury, develop and implement best practices regarding treasury operations, leveraging an integrated treasury system (Kyriba) to monitor and forecast cash flows
  • Manage global multi-currency notional cash pool to ensure compliance with tax and legal requirements by entity while minimizing risk from principal balance, FX, and interest expense
  • Serve as EMEA lead in managing FX exposures by coordinating with EMEA subsidiaries to identify foreign currency exposures and support global cash flow hedge program managed by US treasury, manage and execute EMEA balance sheet hedging program, and assist US treasury in continued process improvement as it relates to managing FX risk
  • Build and manage strategic alliances with key financial institutions to align EMEA’s financing needs and treasury practices
  • Manage the allocated Treasury Team to prioritize activities, as required, cascading the priorities to retained team
  • Ensure that treasury processes are in line with the designed standard Process Framework
  • Manage knowledge transfer to internal team
  • Provide process specific sign-off or approval where needed
  • Oversee all related EMEA Treasury controls, reporting and accounting activities in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 controls and financial reporting requirements, including all accounting policies relating to treasury activities (cash, investment, debt, capital, interest, derivatives, fx, etc.), bank reconciliations, and payment management

2.           Service Performance Management

  • Facilitate Inter-Departmental Alignment by ensuring seamless collaboration and understanding of dependencies with other Finance teams and proactively identify process improvements to optimize efficiency
  • Standardize processes and share best practices across Treasury teams and with other Finance teams to ensure consistency
  • Develop stakeholder relationships and enforce high communication standards among team members
  • Manage service operational performance against targets (e.g., bank fees reduction or working capital optimization)
  • Focus on driving operational metrics and KPIs in order to meet SLAs and Business outcomes
  • Provide input required for processes re-design; e.g. review all new expansion and transformation opportunities and provide review on risks, issues etc.

3.           Governance

  • Assume the role of the 1st point of escalation for processes delivered by the retained team
  • Active participation in governance meetings and provide agreed inputs as required
  • Coordinate governance matrix

4.           People/Team Leadership

  • Oversee a lean team responsible for process execution, while effectively coordinating activities with external service providers
  • Recruit, train, develop and coach team members, and assist them with complex activities as needed
  • Set process-based objectives and targets for individuals that are linked to API and align with the wider company strategy
  • Maintain robust advancement plans for the department and actively engage in career planning discussions with Treasury team members
  • Perform performance reviews and evaluations

5.           Continuous improvement and transformation

  • Proactively identify opportunities for system, process, and method improvements, ensuring ongoing adaptation to align with evolving business needs
  • Work with the internal and/or outsourced provider to discuss and agree on continuous improvement initiatives across the process. This can be newly identified continuous improvement ideas and/or initiatives identified at other centers that are being rollout out globally to drive standardization
  • Work with the Training Support Team to manage continuous improvement training/schedule and embed innovation in delivery teams and ways of working
  • Govern new process integration with the designed standard Process Framework
  • Maintain frequent interaction with key stakeholders to gather, analyze internal requirements and identify opportunities to expand process scope or improve process effectiveness

Skills for Success

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and /or abilities required for the individual to be successful in this position.

  • Experience: At least 8 years of experience in finance roles, focusing on corporate financing and treasury
  • Languages: Proficient in English spoken as well as written
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in corporate finance
