Job Responsibilities
- Project manage and take ownership of assigned Educational Events in line with AO's Global Education Process and Educational Guidelines in close collaboration with Event Specialists and course chairs
- Help to facilitate smooth collaboration within Operational Teams (Event Owners and Event Specialists)
- Build and manage relationships with Chairperson and Faculty, supporting in in the development of scientific programs, event details and faculty invitation in the given timeline
- Identify and invite Faculty and Speakers in close collaboration with the Course Chairs
- Close collaboration with DPS DRIs on event technical support, education grant and voucher purchase
- Perform as an income/ revenue expert by generating revenues through relationship/sales, further liaise and instruct Event Specialists on available budget and coordinate with Event Specialists
- Manage regional / local community campaigns - booth and symposium management during congresses - including congress presence and acquisition of new members
- Develop local networks by engaging and building strong relationships with local Partners to embrace the local environment and understand the local needs.
- Acquire new members and develop trustful relationships on-site during the events, expanding AO networks which will contribute to AO Education
- Identify need for collaboration with local agencies / suppliers
- Annual budget planning for the events in the assigned countries as part of AOs yearly budgeting cycle
- For exceptional cases only: Manage local AO governance, e.g., country councils organize governance meetings, support communications to national
- Accountable for budget of assigned events within in the country
Job Requirements
- University Master or Bachelor degree in relevant field (e.g., hospitality, event management, public relations, communications, marketing) or higher Education "Fachausweis"
- Proven record of professional experience in project work or event management (3-5 years)
- Experience in medical events/course organization is an advantage
- Strong organizational-, project- and event management skills
- Good communication skills and ability to build and maintain relations with Health Care Professional at all levels and broader stakeholders
- Good problem solving and strong analytical skills as well as proven ability to prioritize task
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach, ability to collaborate well with others and work cross-functionally across the organization
- Effective leadership skills through consistent reliability and effective support
- Fluent written and verbal English and German. Knowledge of other relevant languages in the region are an asset
