As Senior Account Manager for the DACH (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) in HPC (Home Personal Care) you will be pivotal in delivering regional sales and Product contribution margin. This role involves close collaboration with all organisation functions (Marketing, Product Management, Technical Service, Customer service, Regulatory, R&D, and other support functions) to achieve targets. You will be accountable for implementing sales, marketing, and business development plans/strategies in the assigned territories to ensure that product and volume potential can be realised.
Essential Job Functions:
- Play a key role in achieving profitable growth and increasing market share within your assigned customers/territory
- Developing and implementing annual sales and marketing plans to increase sales, profitability and market share within the assigned region
- Generate leads/new opportunities with regional accounts, private labels and converters in the Home and Personal Care business
- Generate, drive and commercialise a pipeline of opportunities using the CRM tool (Salesforce)
- Conduct regular customer visits, generate insightful visit and business opportunity in Salesforce
- Develop accurate forecasts and demand plans and manage forecasts using the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) tool
- Maximise sales profitability using negotiation, value selling and cost pass-through techniques
- Optimise cash flow through tight management of payment terms and receivables
- Develop continuous market intelligence to gain competitive intelligence and identify new applications for existing products to gain competitive advantage
- Provide customers with "best in class" customer service to meet business plan objectives
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, cosmetics, biology or other science-based technical disciplines
- A postgraduate / MBA in sales/marketing would be an added advantage
- Detailed knowledge and customer understanding of the home and personal care industry is required - Experience with preservatives, biocidal actives and personal care emulsifiers is an added advantage
- 10 years' experience in regional sales, account management and other commercial roles in chemical/cosmetic ingredient manufacturing companies
- A minimum of seven years' experience selling home and personal care ingredients is required!
- Strong sales/business development and account management experience preferred
- Fluent in German and willing to travel frequently in the DACH region - up to 65% travel expected
- Experience of CRM and IBP is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to lead
