Afternoon Shift Leading Hand, Packing
A great full time opportunity has become available for an Afternoon Shift Leading Hand to join our Old Toongabbie team in a permanent position.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing operation in their respective department and the daily communications associated with manufacturing processes from both internal and/or external customers.
Shift timings: 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Duties and Responsibilities

Be trained on, understand and implement Company, division and regulatory EHS requirements as applicable to their function.

Demonstrate smooth and efficient running of all Packing lines, addressing all quality issues and breakdowns, whilst keeping Filling supplied with empty trucks and ensuring adequate rotation of the inspectors on the line.

Review daily production schedule and determine staffing required.

Organise operators for all lines to maximize efficiency.

Organise rotation of staff on lines (when applicable).

Order IS and Non-Stock items from Warehouse as required.

Before leaving each day ensure timesheets are properly completed and reviewed as well as records for absenteeism, overtime, vacations and training.

Liaise with other departments including maintenance, warehouse, other Supervisors, Leading Hands and Record Keepers.

Perform monthly stock takes.

Ensure Truck Movers are maintained and repaired by liaising with “Crown”.

Train/delegate training of casual employees.

Perform training assessments.

Ensure operators/line setters are performing as expected.

Co-ordinate all rework by creating work orders, ordering from warehouse, and ensuring timely completion of rework.

Ensure weekly cleaning of each Packing Line is properly completed.

Report any issues to Supervisor in a timely manner.

Work unsupervised.
