Your main task will be as below:

- Supervision of the installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of power converters (Thyristor + IGBT) from 0.5MW to 10MW according to international standards at customer sites (worldwide).
- Participation in the development of power converters by providing feedback from the field and close communication with the development teams in Geneva (CH) and Madrid (Spain).
- Provide training to our customers in the field of power converters in substations.
- Ensure full functionality of the HW/SW converter room.
- Uploading and debugging of software, firmware or minor adjustments in software.
- Administrative activities related to testing and commissioning of power converters (reporting, issuing of test and SAT reports).
- Providing overall support during the handover of the power converter to the customer.
- Carrying the Sécheron SA brand image and work proactively to provide the best possible user experience to customers
Mandatory skills:
-
- High-power converters.
- Controllers (PID).
- Automation SW and HW (PLC).
- Communication skills, ability to communicate with customers.
- Electrotechnical studies and experience (ideally above 5 years experience).
- Fluent English spoken and written.
- Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.
Good to have skills :
- Power electronics knowledge is a strong plus.
- Water cooled converters.
- Power network principles.
- Field bus communication networks.
- Knowledge of power conversion principles.
- Familiarity with rail traction power requirements.
- Professional competence according to the international standards in the field.
- Higher knowledge of power converter & power network principles –and PID controllers (PWM, PFC)
- Experience working with Power switching devices: IGBTs, FETs, and similar Power devices.
- Conduct simulations and prototypes to test system efficiency and reliability.
- Ability in programming languages such as MATLAB and Modbus Tools.
- Hands on experience with modelling, simulation, and testing of DC power converter electronics.
