Job Description

About the role:

Please note this is a 1 year fixed term contract

As Specialist, Trade Compliance you closely work in Europe, with the Associate Director and Trade Compliance Manager to develop Biogen’s fundamental compliance program and reinforce it in operational environment.

• Ensure all Biogen’s operations are conducted in compliance with internal procedures, guidance, and international trade laws.
• Assess import-export requirements across multiple EU countries, including but not limited to Harmonized Tariff Classification, Country of Origin determination, valuation, incoterms, etc
• Review and release of Biogen shipping documentation and ensure all the customs attributes are correct and are presented to the third parties (brokers) and authorities in true and fair view.
• Conduct Post Declaration checks for EU (DK, IT, DE, IE, BE and other as needed), CH, UK, NO and AU. Manage any follow up communication required.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Distribution & Logistics, Manufacturing sites, Quality, R&D, etc.) to ensure that international shipments of non-commercial products are imported/exported in a compliant and efficient way.
• Provide with support for customs brokerage management including hyper-care for brokerage transition.
• Provide relevant training internally, e.g. GTM tool trainings
• Act as owner/co-owner of GTC Wiki

What you'll do:

• Post entry audit performance and ensure corrective action is in place including monitoring of completeness.
• Release of Customs Invoices from GTM tool and provision of SME support for requestors.
• Ensure records retention integrity and accuracy.
• Work with customs data and documentation to support the leadership team on self-disclosures in different countries/regions.
• Provide with support brokerage management and ensure the broker's performance is in line with Biogen procedures and requirements.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Ideally 2 years of relevant work experience (in international trade, logistics or other supply chain functions).
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Ability to think critically and have analytical skills and self-starter.
