As part of this Asia Pacific Sustainability Team, we are looking for a Senior Manager to reinforce our client work in Energy Transition and Decarbonization – in supporting our clients to set Net Zero targets, design operational roadmaps, understanding how low carbon technologies are applicable, accessing finance and in supporting the implementation and transformational journey.

You will work collaboratively with our industry and market leads, as well as our global sustainability practice hubs addressing some of our clients’ most pressing challenges. You will work on exciting and varied projects at the main challenge of our time, and an opportunity to support a broad portfolio of clients on their Energy Transition, Decarbonisation and Net Zero Journeys

• Keep your sights on the big picture, overseeing program delivery, developing client relationships, leading cross-team initiatives and developing promising talent.

• Advance the way the industry thinks, contributing to emerging dss+ IP, reusable assets, thought leadership including low carbon technologies, GHG & LCA, ESG Advisory, Sustainable Finance etc.
• Become recognised as an ESG and sustainability subject-matter expert and trusted thought partner within dss+ and to our clients.

You will be responsible for:

• Your mission involves contribution to the sales and delivery of our client engagements, offering development and supporting our industry go-to-market efforts with a focus on Energy Transition and Decarbonisation.
• As a Senior Manager with relevant expertise, you will be expected to:
• Architect client solutions and impactful proposal, drawing together our appropriate assets, resources alongside consulting and specialist teams alongside partnerships where relevant
• Support and where appropriate lead in developing and delivering efficient, practical and impactful Energy Transition and Decarbonisation projects for clients.
• Deploy strong commercial discipline including classify project risks and estimate project timelines, required resources and budgets.
• Confidently manage complex and comprehensive individual client projects or workstreams by leading project teams in relation to technical approach and content, independent development of solutions and being responsible for project deliverables and results including quality control.
• Compose client ready deliverables and materials over the course of the project and carry out adjustments of scope independently / after consultation with stakeholders.

Additionally, you will be playing an active role in building the firm by:

• Prioritizing people development through mentoring, counselling and on the job learning.
• Working with industry and account leads to on the development of project opportunities at potential clients as well as existing clients, codification of key deliverables.
• Collaboratively working to convert client projects and insights into thought leadership e.g. developing and enhancing existing IP, PoV publications, whitepapers, presentations at conferences, etc.
• Engage actively as a member of our global Energy Transition & Decarbonisation network.

We'd like to see:

• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or business. MBA, MS or more is even better.
• Seasoned professional with 8+ years’ experience and at least 3 years of these in consulting with strengths in building and maintaining trusted client relationships.
• A positive, professional, curious, and enthusiastic attitude with naturally great interpersonal skills and a team-first attitude, as we you will be leading and working in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
• Top-notch analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex research projects and provide relevant recommendations delivering high-impact engagements in industrial environments
• Experience in delivering sustainability engagements such as:
• Demonstrate previous exposure including on the following frameworks/standards: TCFD, SBTi, CDP, IPCC GHG Protocol, OGMP, GRI Reporting, and/or ISO 14064.
• Developing and delivering Net Zero, Energy Transition or decarbonisation programmes.
• Ability to translate individual net-zero targets into required actions and roadmaps and capability to advise on individual actions in detail on the implementation journey, e.g. GHG emissions scope 1, 2 and 3 analysis, decarbonization pathways and technologies.
• Advising on business and operational resilience including climate risk and resilience.
• Application of energy modelling and accounting and be able to interpret results and draw insights from energy reporting.
• Strong technical expertise is a bonus, in fields such energy management and efficiency, carbon capture utilisation and storge, renewable energy, grid and energy systems, carbon markets and financing mechanisms and role of low carbon technologies such as biofuels, hydrogen etc.
• Deep experience in one or more of our priority AP industries: Mining & Metals, Chemicals, Oil, Gas & New Energies, Private Equity and Ag, Food & Beverage bringing real working knowledge and expertise.
• A big plus: An established presence and network in sustainability and ESG in Asia Pacific
• Fluency in written and spoken English. Other languages such as Mandarin are a bonus.
