Presentation

The mission of the genomics platform GTF is to provide access to state-of-the-art instruments, methods and support to various laboratories, mainly at the University of Lausanne and its partners.


In this context, the bioinformatician will be part of a team of about ten scientists, divided between laboratory and data analysis. This dynamic environment combines data production activities following established protocols with development projects aimed at designing and optimizing new methods in genomics.

Your responsibilities


  • Process and control the quality of data from high-throughput sequencing.

  • Perform statistical analysis on high-throughput sequencing data, in direct relation with users of the GTF platform.

  • Design and develop computational tools for the processing and statistical analysis of data from high-throughput sequencing or other genomic data production technologies.

  • Evaluate new technologies implemented at the GTF platform, in collaboration with platform members.


Your qualifications

In order to complete our team, we are looking for someone with the following skills :



  • PhD in one of the following fields: bioinformatics or chemistry/biology/physics

  • Excellent knowledge of statistics.

  • 3 years’ experience in processing of high-throughput sequencing data from various technologies (Illumina, Element Biosciences, Pacific Biosciences, Oxford Nanopore).

  • 2 years’ experience in statistical analysis of gene expression data (in particular RNAseq, for single-cell and/or bulk projects).
