THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Senior Scrum Master, you'll be dealing with more complex situations and you’ll need to work across functional units, and other teams, and upper levels of management. You can expect to work on a wide variety of situations involving more complex scaling factors and variations. In this role you will identify allies and coordinate with other teams to improve delivery of value to the customer.
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:

Facilitate the Scrum process: Ensure that the Scrum framework is followed, including organizing and leading Scrum ceremonies like daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Remove obstacles: Identify and eliminate impediments that hinder the team’s progress, enabling them to work more efficiently.

Coach and mentor: Provide advanced guidance on Scrum principles and practices, helping the team to improve their agile maturity and performance.
-
Foster collaboration: Promote effective communication and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders, ensuring a cohesive and productive work environment.

Drive continuous improvement: Implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of Scrum initiatives, and use these metrics to drive ongoing improvements in processes and outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised with an emphasis on consistently improving and problem-solving.

Facilitate agile events on a Team and Programme (ART) level according to Scaled Agile Framework.

Align teams to common PI objectives and coordinate interaction with other teams of one's own and other units to manage dependencies.
-
Mitigate variability in product development by establishing a consistent development cadence and fostering a customer-centric release management approach.

Additionally, contribute to the implementation of DevOps practices to enhance overall product development and delivery efficiency

Offer conceptual and innovative approaches to improve the organizational agility.

Guide, coach, and mentor more junior or aspiring Scrum Masters.

Act as a trusted representative for the team in committees, coordinate with IT colleagues from other teams, and are SPOC for the product owner and release manager or other functions from the business.

Deliver ongoing training for the team, product owners, developers, and testers to consolidate and support the future development of agile methods in the organization.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
-
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or other relevant work experience.
-
7+ years of experience in Agile development working as a Scrum Master.
-
7+ years of experience within a Lean/Agile development environment.
-
Thorough understanding of Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and Lean practices.
-
Understanding of design thinking, DevSecOps, and CICD pipelines a plus.
-
Experience with Jira.
-
Comfortable leading multi-day workshops and training modules.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Professional/business level in both English and Japanese.
-
Global mindset and willingness to work in a multi-national environment.
Preferred to have:

Healthcare and Life Sciences industry experience desired

Industry-recognized Agile, Scaled Agile and / or DevOps Qualifications,
-
Preferred Technical Degree (or equivalent experience)
