Project Manager Engineering

As a member of the Business Unit Advanced Industrials, you are responsible for developing products for the global vacuum market. These products are, for example, key elements in power generation and storage ("solar", "nuclear fusion", …), in research of the smallest and largest structures in the universe ("accelerators", "gravitational waves", …) or in measurement technologies (“electron microscopes”, "mass spectrometers", …).

Together with the product managers, development engineers, supply chain specialists and quality engineers, you will lead the product development to a technical and commercial success.

YOUR CHALLENGES

• Initiating and leading technology- and product-developments, -modifications, customer specific product adaptations, cost reductions or product localizations
• Execution of feasibility and concept studies with product management in quoting process
• Understand and apply agile/scrum and lean principles as appropriate
• Management of all product development phases from idea/concept to industrialization (stage-gate process) in an agile way
• Reporting the project status to the VAT innovation boards based on project scope, budget, quality, and timeline
• Intensive coordination of interdisciplinary teams out of product management, development engineering, supply chain management and quality engineering to ensure that market requirements are optimally and completely fulfilled
• Supporting installations on customer’s site

  • ... be passionated to lead as a project manager in the area of product- and technology-development
  • ... have completed an education in mechanical engineering / precision engineering / mechatronics (bachelor, master or comparable)
  • ... have the ability to handle complex projects in a structured way and accordingly to the given processes
  • ... have good communication skills in German and English (written and spoken)
  • ... be willing to travel internationally (max. 10%)
• You have as an advantage ...
  • ... completed advanced trainings in project management and/or business administration
  • ... experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies or rapid prototyping
  • ... experience in product development for applications with higher quality requirements (e.g. nuclear, medical, automotive)

  • ... experience or knowledge in quality engineering methodologies (e.g. RCCA)
