Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Manager Sustainable Business Diligence with banking, consulting and/or commodity market experience to join our team. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic and truly diverse team and will be involved in a wide range of activities to safeguard BASFs global commodity trading operations.
You will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Role - Safeguard BASF lntertrades` license-to-operate in relation to strategic-, operational-, financial- and reputational risks
- Self-Starter - Along all interfaces, pro-actively engage in managing our business partner portfolio quality, sustainability campaigns, trade control conformities, credit management concepts, regulatory compliance or insurance contract enhancements
- Risk Adjusted Solutions - Ensure operational flexibility for physical and derivative trading operations by developing and implementing outside of the box, risk-adjusted and robust solutions. Solutions that are in line with regulations, corporate requirements and risk tolerances along all interfaces
- Business Partner and Vessel Screenings - Manage and enhance tailored due diligence procedures to ensure safe and smooth operations
- Sustainability - Coordinate and report on BIT's sustainability campaign activities in relation to business partners' performance as well as BASF Intertrade certifications (e.g. ISCC, REDCert)
- Regulations – Keep oversight of regulatory developments and their impacts on our organization in areas such as trade control or financial market regulations. Design and implement effective compliance measures
- Consultancy – Support our business development activities through hands-on project & transaction consultancy. Conduct thorough interdisciplinary assessments of our planned activities to handle identified risks and red flags in advance
- IT Key User - Act as a key user for our sustainable business diligence team. Design process optimizing-, internal control-, reporting- and monitoring functionalities and contribute to related make or buy decisions.
Requirements:
- Master's degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as business administration, business information systems, banking, sustainability, or commodity trading
- At least 5 years of banking, consulting or commodity market experience generated via at least two functional role assignments related to the commodity trading industry
- Stressresistant,strongandeffective communication,team-working and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and communicate with stakeholders across hierarchies; strong intercultural versatility
- IT affinity is a plus ( PowerBI, author requirements for programmers)
- Fluent English in written and spoken is a must, fluent German in written and spoken is a plus
