Our life-saving systems, which we develop and manufacture in Zurich, are used for advanced heart failure patients needing short- or long-term circulatory support. </p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p></p><p>Our location in the heart of the city of Zurich has around 130 employees in the areas of development, quality and production of the <b>CentriMag</b> system and the <b>HeartMate 3. </b> </p><p></p><p>We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced<b> Buyer/Planner </b>to join our team. </p><p></p><p><b>Position Overview:</b></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p>Responsible for managing the daily activities in the purchasing department to achieve high quality results that support the objectives of the business.</p><p>Ensures continuity of supply of direct materials needed for production, indirect materials and services considering quality, cost & time.</p><p>Activities include obtaining stock level, quotations, generating purchase orders, scheduling deliveries, react and communicate schedule impacts, risk management, supplier management and solving invoice issues.</p><p></p><p>Responsible for operational purchasing and supplier relationship management with a strong focus on quality.</p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>Ensures availability of required material for Operations (production lines) and engineering / R&D project within a dedicated portfolio.</p></li><li><p>Generates purchase orders using SAP to support production and project requirements, considering quality, costs and timeline</p></li><li><p>Manages order confirmations, delivery notes and certificates of conformity</p></li><li><p>Request quotes according to specification and reviews them</p></li><li><p>Maintenance of purchasing related master data in the ERP system</p></li><li><p>Controls invoices and supports Invoice Resolution Team</p></li><li><p>Collaborates with the global procurement and supplier quality team when establishing or qualifying new suppliers</p></li><li><p>Supplier Relationship Management for dedicated portfolio (Maintain and expand business relationship / Single Point of Contact)</p></li><li><p>Negotiates or renegotiates prices, annual volume agreements & administers contracts with suppliers to drive cost improvements</p></li><li><p>Identifies and actively mitigates risks in supply base, including obsolescence management</p></li><li><p>Close cooperation with Engineering, and Quality when reviewing specifications</p></li><li><p>Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors</p></li><li><p>Mild travel is required for maintaining suppliers (majority DACH)</p></li><li><p>Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested</p></li><li><p>Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required Qualifications/Technical Skills:</b></p><ul><li><p>Min. 2 years of proven Procurement experience in in an engineering company</p></li><li><p>Technical commerce education or equivalent combination of education and experience</p></li><li><p>Strong communication skills, fluent or native in German and English (Must be able to negotiate, conduct meetings in German and English)</p></li><li><p>SAP experience essential</p></li><li><p>Good analytical, process thinking, planning, organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills required</p></li><li><p>Experiences in negotiation is a must</p></li><li><p>Knowledge in MS Office recommended</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of medical device industry preferred</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Familiarity with and basic understanding of the regulatory and quality system requirements (e.g. ISO 13485)</p></li></ul><h3></h3><p><b>Working at Abbott</b> </p><p></p><p>At Abbott, you can do work that matters and help people to live a healthier and fuller life, grow your career, and learn, be your true self.
