About The Role
The Amcor Global Talent Director is responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of global talent strategies, processes and tools in the key Talent areas: Talent Assessment and Development, Performance Management, Diversity Equity & Inclusion and Talent Acquisition. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Amcor attracts, develops and retains top talent to drive business success.
The Global Talent Director will collaborate closely with business leaders, the global talent network, and HR leaders to define both short-term and long-term talent strategies that align with Amcor’s global business priorities. This role is instrumental in fostering a culture of outperformance and continuous improvement.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Act as a role model for all HR talent processes, embodying and driving the organization’s values.
- Lead the creation and execution of global talent strategies that support business objectives and drive organizational effectiveness.
- Support talent initiatives that drive organizational growth, ensuring alignment with business goals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Drive forward and continuously improve the existing DE&I strategy to enhance a diverse and inclusive workforce that drives innovation and reflects the organization’s values.
- Oversee the design and execution of performance management processes that promote accountability, development, and high performance.
- Provide strategic leadership and ensure global alignment in Talent Acquisition processes, optimizing global hiring strategies.
- Continue strengthening and optimising the existing Global Talent Management processes, including driving Succession Planning globally.
- Utilize talent data and insights to inform and drive workforce planning decisions, ensuring alignment with both current business needs and future strategic priorities.
- Strengthen and ensure an ongoing effective communication strategy to inform and solicit ongoing feedback from all key stakeholders for all Talent matters.
- Collaborate as a trusted advisor with the HR leadership Team (HRLT) and business leaders, understanding business trends and their people implications. Integrate insights to diagnose and identify necessary interventions to improve the organization effectiveness.
- Stay informed about changing market place conditions that impact talent content and processes. Share findings with the HR Leadership Team to drive the creation of new materials or the reworking of existing ones.
- Facilitate training sessions or senior leadership meetings if and when required.
- Define and monitor Talent budgets within agreed targets and objectives.
- Monitor and ensure the highest ROI of all Talent programs in meeting or exceeding agreed goals (measure, document and report on ROI assessments of talent initiatives).
- Advocate for and lead the implementation and utilization of talent management systems.
- Lead the Global Talent & Development Network fostering collaboration and best practices.
- Lead specific projects related to performance management, mentoring, coaching, engagement as required
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including decision-making and leadership authority, within a large and fast paced commercial, matrix, environment
- Bachelor degree required. Master' degree in Business Administration, (International) Human Resources or comparable education is preferred
- Strong track record of operating within the FMCG or Manufacturing sector
- Proven leadership experience with 5 or more years of experience in a leadership position
- Strong and proven people management experience.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic Learning and Development, Talent Management and Succession Planning, HR and Organizational effectiveness, Leadership techniques.
- International, cross cultural working experience.
- Business fluency in English and working knowledge of additional languages preferred
- Experience working in an HR COE.
- Expertise in Talent Management methodologies, technologies, processes and strategies.
- Strong leader with the ability to lead the transfer of a business vision into the right HR plans and actions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders at all levels in the organization creating a trustful environment.
- Strong presentation and negotiations skills.
- Proven ability to influence and persuade others, driving alignment and commitment to talent initiatives across the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced, changing and virtual environment.
- Strong and proven organizational skills.
- Ability to simplify complex issues and willing to think outside the obvious solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a global context, understanding diverse cultural perspectives and practices.
