QA Manager

Mission

At Verity, our QA team helps our development teams ensure the delivery of high-quality software. We use both manual and automated testing, and work to shift this left to catch and fix problems early. We believe in teamwork for Quality Assurance, so the entire development teams are involved in testing activities. We strive to not “just” deliver high-quality software, but also to continuously improve our testing processes, and are currently ramping up our efforts on test automation to automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks.

Your role

• Lead and mentor the Verity QA Team, shape the team focus and culture, and ensure that the team is productive and happy
• Own the QA roadmap and develop test concepts and strategies across the testing pyramid for our warehouse inventory system, according to shift-left principles
• Coach our cross-functional development teams to foster a culture of quality and collaboration, and work tightly with them to define, develop and implement best practice QA processes
• Gather and analyze metrics on our testing efforts to make sure that we focus on what brings the most value
• Work with our engineering management to continuously refine and improve our development lifecycle

Your experience

• Degree (FH, MSc, BSc) in computer science, software engineering, or relevant field.
• 5+ years of professional hands-on experience in product QA environments, planning and executing methodical testing of complex software solutions in an agile environment, according to the DevOps principles
• Professional experience building, leading and developing a team
• Excellent understanding of QA processes and methods to ensure and improve software quality
• Ideally, practical experience working in both smaller start-up and also large-scale enterprise environments
• Our process and tech stack is based on the following, so experience in any of these are an added plus:
  • Delivering in agile / DevOps environments
  • Atlassian tool suite (Confluence, Jira & Xray)
  • Testing standalone (onboard/embedded) and web applications
  • Testing embedded solutions with hardware
  • Building and maintaining automation frameworks in CI systems (using e.g. Postman, pytest, Playwright, Swagger, boost, CTest, …)
  • Python and/or C++ in cloud-based and embedded systems
  • AWS services and container technologies
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
