Energy System Modelling and Optimization Engineer
Position Overview:
You will be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of maritime technology. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and process data collected from ship energy systems.
- Develop and refine simulation models based on real-world data.
- Utilize MATLAB Simulink to perform simulations and create detailed models.
- Write automated scripts to process data efficiently.
- Apply Artificial Intelligence to analyse data and optimize system performance.
- Integrate new technologies into the energy systems, including batteries, fuel cells, fuel cells, and efficiency-enhancing systems.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure precise modelling and analysis.
- Document and present findings and insights to support decision-making and portfolio development processes.x
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Passion for data processing and analysis.
- Ability to write automated scripts for data processing.
- Experience with the simulation and modelling of physical systems.
- Proficiency in MATLAB Simulink.
- Basic understanding of Python; expertise is not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Skills:
- Interest in decarbonisation and efficiency enhancement technologies, and their integration into energy systems.
- Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems is preferred but not required.
- Experience with hybrid energy systems and their conrtrol and optimisation; with key components such as generators, drives, batteries, fuel cells, and other efficiency-enhancing technologies.
- Keen interest in learning about Artificial Intelligence and ability to apply it to data analysis and system optimization.
