The Opportunity

As the Insights and Strategy Partner Germany your role will involve providing forward-looking insights to enhance understanding of the relevant markets, competitors, and customers, with the goal of delivering a significant competitive advantage for Astellas’ products.

Key Activities for this role:

  • Insights and Strategy Partner activities for assigned product (s) and provide forward looking insights to advance understanding of the relevant markets, competitors, and customers with the aim of delivering major competitive advantage for Astellas’ products.
  • Delivery and execution of insights plans that are aligned with global counterparts and address Affiliate specific strategic objectives, tactical requirements, and decision-making needs. Includes annual business planning activities and additional strategic exercises.
  • Develop deep understanding of the market landscape which includes market potential, market trends, unmet medical and patient needs, market access challenges and competitors’ trend for each of the assigned products.
  • Provide assumptions and inputs to inform analytics plans (executed by separate team) to inform market and response models such as forecasting, identification of data sources, and another secondary research.
  • Prioritize resources and projects to effectively and efficiently deliver I&S support to Affiliate commercial stakeholders and align to global CI roadmap.
  • Serve as the primary strategic partner and point of accountability to Affiliate commercial leadership, providing thought leadership and insight to drive business decisions and outcomes.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Strong financial acumen and a good understanding of the Business Planning Process in a pharmaceutical organization (Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills).
  • Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively across a global organization, both cross- functionally and cross-culturally
  • Strategic thinking: quickly discerns patterns and trends and understands their implications.
  • Ability to understand, translate and integrate multiple data sources (across primary and secondary data sources) into actionable insights to drive decision-making.
  • Ability to define/scope projects effectively and propose a structured and practical approach to solving complex and ill-defined problems.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience of project management, able to manage multiple, complex projects.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and partnering skills with demonstrated ability to lead and work in a team-based, global environment.
  • Previous experience in Consultancy.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Significant presentation skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role such as Business Insights or Business intelligence.

Educations/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Additional information:

  • This is a permanent fulltime position.
  • Fluent in written and spoken business English and German.
  • This position is based in the Munich, Germany.
  • This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and minimum 1 days per week in our Germany office. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
