Site Reliability Engineer (80% - 100%) 




As a Site Reliability Engineer for our Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) service, you empower Open Systems to deploy and operate a reliable, distributed service at scale, across multiple platforms. 




Your mission:



  • Drive the development of our automation framework to reduce manual intervention across our services.

  • Develop software, tooling, and processes to enhance the reliability of our systems.

  • Define and measure Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to assess the release readiness of services.

  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.

  • Participate in incident management on-call rotation and conduct root cause analysis.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve our monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.




If you have experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering and are interested in transitioning to an SRE role, we support this transition. You should be able to articulate your motivation for making this change and demonstrate a strong skillset in your current field.




Qualifications & skills:


You excel in either Software Engineering or Networking and Security Operations and have a keen interest in solving problems at their intersection. You are motivated to learn new skills and expand your theoretical and practical knowledge through training programs offered by internal domain experts and team colleagues. Ideally, you possess the following skills:





  • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

  • At least 2 years of experience in SRE, software development, DevOps, or security automation.

  • Strong conceptual understanding of scalable system design.

  • Proficiency in designing, testing, and releasing code in general-purpose languages such as Golang or Python, as well as scripting languages like Bash.

  • Experience with Linux and comfort with command-line operations.

  • Familiarity with GitOps, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, GCP).

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security practices.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build trust across teams to design and deliver shared solutions.
