Operations Finance Business Partner

Directly reporting to VAT Group Chief of Operations /COO/.

We are seeking an Operations /OPS/ Finance Business Partner who combines OPS controlling expertise with strong analytical and collaboration skills. This role is pivotal in supporting the COO and OPS team by driving financial analysis, monitoring results, and ensuring alignment with our strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in finance with expertise in OPS controlling and demonstrate the ability to effectively manage and coordinate complex financial processes.

As an OPS Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with both the Finance Controlling and OPS teams, fostering synergy and efficiency. You will provide operational and strategic support, ensuring alignment with VAT's financial targets and strategic goals. Primary Responsibilities:

Support and Control OPS Activities:

  • Serve as a genuine finance business partner for the COO and OPS team.
  • Monitor results and escalate deviations and variances. Align reporting structures using ERP systems (eg. PSS/D365 or similar).
  • Drive focused and meaningful analysis, providing insights into supply chain and E2E developments.

Financial Analysis and Decision Support:

  • Develop and provide recommendations and scenarios for fact-based decisions.
  • Prepare operational short-term scenarios and strategic mid-term planning.
  • Foster and challenge strategic discussions, translating corporate strategic requirements into actionable roadmaps.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with other stakeholders in the OPS organization.
  • Ensure the financial agenda in the OPS area is designed, developed, and executed effectively.
  • Maintain effective and independent stakeholder management.

Operational Excellence:

  • Participate actively in SC strategy development and financial MTP scenario planning.
  • Promote understanding of financial key figures within operations.
  • Support transparency and processes of our productivity and cost reduction related activities to ensure target achievement.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Play a key role in monthly financial factory reviews and regular CEO quarterly business reports.
  • Establish dynamic forecasting and gap analysis with dashboards and KPIs. Build the interface between OPS and finance regarding forecasting and analysis.
  • Ensure financial information is used for decision-making within the OPS organization.
  • Create and support necessary management and BoD /Board of Directors/ reporting requirements in alignment with the COO.

Competence Level / Experience:

  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Engineering with a strong background in operations and supply chain/ financial engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or related functions like Production.
  • Effective stakeholder management in a matrix organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive meaningful conclusions.
  • Fluency in English, with strong communication skills
  • Highly resilient, entrepreneurial attitude, and capable of improving processes in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong proficiency in navigating matrix organizational structures.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., PSS/D365) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with financial modeling and scenario planning.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
