Our Team «BGE Sensors & Electrodes» develops, characterizes and optimizes different electrochemical sensors for medical devices in the area of IVD diagnostics (measurement of blood gases, electrolytes and metabolites) to measure various parameters in whole blood.
To be able to deliver the desired products, we select electrochemical, optical or enzymatic measuring principles and develop the corresponding sensors.
This internship position is located in Rotkreuz, Switzerland, on site.
Key Responsibilities
-
Collaborate with our technical experts in the development and improvement of sensors for blood gas analytics.
-
Help investigate aspects of the sensor design by planning and conducting different physical and chemical experiments and tests. You support the synthesis and characterization of different functional components of the sensor.
-
Support the development of new sensor technologies and evaluate new sensor concepts, from the selection and preparation of materials, to the formulation and production of the sensors and the functional testing of our electrochemical and optical sensors and the corresponding data analysis.
-
Support the development team with your scientific background and you will learn to understand, characterize and optimize complex, electrochemical sensors and processes.
-
Work on your own work packages, plan and conduct experiments and write the corresponding analysis and documentation. For this, you have access to different analytical methods and tools to analyze sensors (or materials) and use data analysis tools to compile a report on your technical work.
