Project: For our customer Roche Diagnostics International AG based in Rotkreuz we are looking for Senior Electronic and Firmware Development Engineer R&D (m/f/d).

Background: Roche Diagnostics is one of the world's leading providers of diagnostic system solutions for clinics, laboratories and doctors' offices. The RDS R&D POC (Point of Care) department develops diagnostic systems used for the measurement of various physiological parameters in the hospital and critical care environment. We provide solutions for on-the-spot diagnosis in the areas of coagulation monitoring, urinalysis, glucose management, cardiovascular care and blood gas & electrolyte (BG/E) testing. The team comprises experts with various backgrounds in engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, and laboratory. As part of our POC instrument development team, we are looking for an ambitious engineer in the area of firmware and electronic development. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and motivated team that supports product care and update projects in an interdisciplinary environment.

The perfect candidate owns a master's degree in electronic engineering with a focus on firmware development. The person is very experienced in embedded software development in C and in analog electronic design. Additionally, the candidate is familiar in the area of motion control and has a very good knowledge of spoken and written English.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Embedded software development for the modules (maintenance, bug fixing, implementing new features)
• Electronic development from schematic design to system integration for new and existing instruments and technologies
• Concept development of electronic modules (proactive proposals based on customer and service feedbacks)
• Creation of technical specifications, design and verification documents according to process from feasibility setup to the final unit
• Perform and document feasibility studies and verification tests of instrument modules during development phase
• Support of the product after launch during the whole life cycle of the instrument
• Redesign of PCBs due to end of life and 2nd source topics
• Migration of firmware code to new microcontroller platform
• Code analysis of complex electronic modules
• Root cause analysis of field and production issues
• Collaboration with experts of different disciplines, departments and external development partners
• Support less experienced developers

Must Haves:
• Hold a master or bachelor degree in electronic engineering with focus firmware development or comparable studies
• 10+ years experience in embedded software development in C (experience with STM32 are a plus)
• 5+ years experience in analog electronic design
• Knowledge in the area of motion control (focus stepper motors)
• Ideally knowledge in thermal regulation and Peltier application
• You have very good knowledge of spoken and written English, German is a plus
• Very independent and structured way of working, self-initiative and fun in teamwork
