The Swiss Military Aviation Authority wants to strengthen its team with a new employee to take on the challenges in the regulation and oversight of military air navigation services, infrastructure as well as information and data management in Swiss military aviation.

Your tasks

  • Further develop regulation and oversight in the areas of AIM and infrastructure
  • Contribute to aviation publications and data exchange and management for the benefit of military aviation
  • Review new instrument flight procedures and airspace changes
  • Support the aeronautical obstacle service for the benefit of military aviation
  • Review changes to airfield infrastructure

Your profile

  • Training/education in the fields of air navigation services or engineering, university or university of applied sciences degree, officer in the Swiss Armed Forces is an advantage
  • Several years of experience in one of the areas of air navigation services or air traffic management, ideally in conjunction with military aviation
  • Independent, yet team-oriented personality with a fast-working style, analytical and holistic thinking, and the ability of abstraction
  • Perseverance, tenacity and negotiating skills in dealing with different stakeholders and organizations
  • Good verbal and written English skills, good knowledge of at least a second official Swiss language and, if possible, passive knowledge of a third official Swiss language

About us

The Armed Forces Staff (AFS) supports the Chief of the Armed Forces in leading the Defence Group and is responsible for the overall planning and development of the Armed Forces. The AFS establishes strategic foundations and carries out force development, armed forces and armaments planning, and international security tasks in accordance with policy guidelines. The AFS also manages and coordinates all overarching cross-divisional areas (e.g. personnel, finance, real estate).

The Swiss Armed Forces employ over 9,000 people in four military and around 200 civilian professions, at 140 locations throughout Switzerland. The Armed Forces are also providing for the next generation by training apprentices in more than 30 professions.
