The Senior Financial Analyst plays an essential role in growing talent in our business through collaboration and support within FP&A and our business partners. You play an essential role in partnering with business units by supporting decision-making, planning, and driving results. You will understand
business operations, developing tools, metrics, and processes to provide information that drives action and improvements. You will ensure information is accurate, relevant, and actionable while working collaboratively with a wide audience of stakeholders.
Job responsibilities
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Support the build and analysis of the annual budget, 3-years strategic plan and quarterly forecasts for the business unit.
- Revenue and GP modeling - Work with Finance Business Manager and Marketing team to gather underlying market assumptions. Ensure proper assumptions such as volume growth, competitive wins, pricing impacts, new product launches etc. are built into planning submissions. Help identify potential risks and opportunities and perform ongoing tracking.
- Robust knowledge of impacts to gross profit through pricing, product cost and product mix impacts. Being able to apply business knowledge to support business in identifying GP improvement opportunities.
- Cost center planning and analysis – Work with business partners to create a detailed budget for cost center expenditures, including headcount, program spend, and depreciation. Able to confidently provide sound recommendations to cost center owners on their spending and outlook.
- Data submission – Data submission with quick turnaround time and within corporate deadlines.
Actual Reporting
- Sales performance monitoring – Collaborate with business partners to monitor and report weekly sales performance. Provide accurate outlook for monthly and quarterly revenue performance.
- Developing and streamlining report to correctly and clearly communicate the financial performance. Provide guidance to business partner on risk and opportunities.
- Actual report includes but not limited to P&L, revenue by product line, cost center, pricing performance.
- Participate in preparation of presentation decks for regional and worldwide leadership teams.
Monthly Closing
- Monthly rebate accrual analysis preparation, including the monitoring of system rebate rates and analysis review with all business unit’s Finance Business Managers
- Contribute to monthly closing including setting up accruals, reconciliation of the related general ledger accounts.
- Calculate specific data according to pre-defined reporting package requirements.
- Perform analysis and data reports upon request.
- Work closely with NASSC and local accounting team to ensure revenue, cost of sales and all expenses are appropriately reflected. Report and explain expense performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries and complex balance sheet reconciliations to record GL transactional activity and adjustments to maintain complete and accurate accounting records.
Other
- Review existing accounting policies, activities, processes, and systems and make recommendations to Management on any necessary changes.
- Ad hoc projects, analyses, and other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting. Actively working towards a CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Minimum 4 years professional experience FP&A (budgeting, planning, forecasting, financial modeling, P&L, revenue, expenses, financial and business analysis), with a strong understanding of accounting/financial reporting, and strong financial analytical skills.
Knowledge & Skills
- High proficiency and experience with MS Excel.
- Proficient with other MS tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Self-starter, results-oriented, and collaborative team player.
- Strong critical thinking capabilities to perform complex investigation activities.
- Organized, able to manage time/ multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) – being able to explain complex finance concepts to a non-finance individual.
- Excellent time management skills to meet competing deadlines and priorities
- Knowledge and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, JDE, BPC preferred.
