As a Support Engineer, you will be part of a team of remote engineers based in our office of Basel. 

You will help to support our customers remotely on our range of spectroscopy instruments. The application of your communication skills, creativity and can-do attitude is essential. Your ability to solve customer problems and your commitment to providing the highest level of service is the key to success for your customers.  

 

Your tasks will be as follows:  

  • Remotely diagnose and identify technical problems on hardware and software  
  • Plan the parts required for repairs  
  • Follow up customers' technical requests via telephone, email or the digital platform  
  • Provide a high level of remote technical service/support for hardware and software  
  • Solve a wide variety of problems of varying degrees of complexity  
  • Provide practical solutions to optimize the efficiency and availability of customer systems  
  • Participate in and lead projects that require coordination with other functions at local and international level  
  • Working closely with our field and sales teams  

Qualifications

Required qualification:  

We are looking for a motivated candidate with the following background:  

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry or equivalent)   
  • Laboratory experience in analytical methods  
  • Experience of using one or more versions of OpenLab software  
  • Basic knowledge of network and/or client-server configurations  
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team  
  • Very good level of English
