What We do / The Team
FX Options Technology is focused on delivering Technology solutions to the FX Derivatives Sales & Trading businesses. Our development teams are based in London, Singapore, Toronto and Chennai. In all cases, we liaise directly with the trading and sales desks. We provide the technical expertise that enables our business to generate revenue.
Volt is an application used by our FX Options traders globally to mark volatility surfaces and drive FX options pricing across the bank. It forms a critical component of our technology offering, and is a fundamental driver of our business’s revenues. Originally implemented in C# , we are driving a major migration to a fully containerised architecture in Java.
Role Overview/What will you do:
We are looking for an Java developer and technologist to take a hands-on role, contribute to the design and delivery of feature enhancements for our business, and be involved with L3 support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver features and enhancements to the new strategic platform
- Deliver BAU enhancements to help our trading business meet their short to medium term goals
- Support the platform (as part of an L3 rota), work closely with dedicated support team
- Partner with other FX Technology teams to deliver strategic projects
- Work closely with Quantitative Analysts
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure Teams to manage our hardware estate and drive our transition to a fully virtual environment
Key Skills and Experience required
- Several years commercial Java (other similar languages considered) development experience
- Desire and capability to understand the complex options business
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work across teams to deliver features
- Strong development fundamentals
Any Beneficial / Nice to have skills and experience:
- Commercial Python experience
- Knowledge of finance
- Experience working with financial quantitative libraries
- Knowledge of distributed systems technologies – Messaging, Caching, Database
- Process and tools to produce well written low defect rate code
- Evangelist for Agile practices, TDD and CI/CD pipelines
- Openshift, Kubernetes, Docker experience desirable
