Position Purpose:

The Commercial Insights & Analytics Manager leverages his/her in-depth business knowledge, advanced analytical capabilities and understanding of data and KPIs to drive profound investigations on our industry, categories and consumer trends and to provide qualitative and quantitative commercial insights answer business questions.

The main focus of the position is the management of Consumer Behavior KPIs (data & metrics from Global Tracker), including the following:

> Consumer Experience KPIs definitions & Methodologies

> Descriptive & prescriptive analysis across incidence & tracker reports (consolidation & connecting the dots)

> Data availability (mainly dashboard system targeting one self-service model for the whole JTI org.)

> Support on data management & governance (data validation, cleaning, harmonization, ingestion etc.)

> Active involvement in the development and expansion of the Heated tobacco consumer experience KPIs framework

The incumbent would govern and evolve business definitions, KPIs, data sources, analytics products and global SI reports to secure a relevant, insightful and accurate read of the business. He/She would participate in cross-functional projects providing strategic guidance on measures and data sources and driving consumer and commercial business knowledge across the organization.

What will you do-responsibilities:

  • Commercial Insights & Analytics The incumbent would leverage his/her in-depth business knowledge, advanced analytical capabilities and understanding of data and KPIs to drive profound investigations on our industry, categories and consumer trends and to provide qualitative and quantitative commercial insights answer business questions from the management and corporate stakeholders. Develop and present story-telling reports to explain what has happened, why it happened and what could be next to spark new business perspectives and strategies definitions, or to set the ground for ad hoc investigations by other SI teams.
  • Consumer Experience KPIs definitions & Methodologies Take ownership of Market Dynamics KPIs and data sources governance, able to address assertively questions or concerns from senior stakeholders. With the aim to provide an accurate and insightful read of the business, the incumbent will drive regular assessments of existing KPIs or propose new measures and dimensions of analysis, drive alignment with stakeholders to define and agree on criteria to change current definitions, gather facts to provide an objective perspective of business relevance and impact, ensure approved changes implementation with technical teams, etc. The exploration of new sources and the assessment of their potential to complement/improve the read of the business will be included, requiring alignment/collaboration with other functions.
  • Descriptive & prescriptive analysis across incidence & tracker reports (consolidation & connecting the dots) For the analytics products under his / her accountability, the incumbent will be accountable to preserve their business relevance and accuracy. He / She will define the yearly roadmap in close collaboration with the Commercial Analytics Manager and relevant stakeholders, take the necessary actions to secure and follow-up on the required budget, monitor the roadmap implementation and adjust priorities if needed.
  • Consumer KPIs data availability (dashboard system to facilitate the understanding of consumer behavior data mainly coming from Tracker Accountability of the tools required to analyze the evolution of the consumer KPIs, with special focus on the Tracker program, creating the necessary tools (Power BI...) to ensure understanding of the KPIs evolution, creating and proactively providing all relevant insights to the organization.
  • Cross-functional Projects Provide corporate stakeholders with the highest quality support across cross-functional initiatives, providing strategic guidance on the measures and sources that would better meet project needs, ensuring adherence to business governance principles, driving consumer and commercial business knowledge across the organization and providing relevant commercial insights for the success of the project.

Who are we looking for – requirements:

  • University degree
  • 10+ years’ experience in Marketing & Sales function in a market, (region or HQ)
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Strong business understanding with extensive knowledge of the different variables that impact our industry categories and brands development, including macroeconomics, incidence & consumption, consumer dynamics, pricing, volume, inflow/outflow, retail KPIs, taxation.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Tracker program and market dynamic data sources (e.g. Nielsen, IRI...), KPIs calculation, reporting and insights generation. Have experience working with large amount of data, and deep knowledge of data and how it impacts KPIs and consolidation. Knowledge of Consumer KPIs and how they help explain Market Dynamics
  • Project management experience, able to manage well details without losing the sight of the bigger picture, prioritizing on the fly while managing often changing business priorities
  • Experience managing and working with external suppliers and internal senior stakeholders
  • Proficiency with statistical models, able to make decisions on which model would provide a more accurate read of the business (present and future views) and provide relevant consumer insights
  • Proficiency with Python, R, Excel, VBA, Power BI, SQL, able to define relevant business measures, to process data and to present results in a compelling manner to facilitate stakeholders understanding and decision making
  • Storytelling and ability to make engaging presentations summarizing relevant consumer behavior information in a easy to understand and actionable way
  • Solid verbal and written communications skills and ability to manage different stakeholders (e.g. corporate functions, regions, markets, 3rd parties...)
  • High capacity to organize and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
  • High level of autonomy and decision making on topics with broad impact across the organization (including corporate functions, markets and regions)
  • High problem-solving capacity keeping the big picture and long term perspectives in mind, in order to strive for pragmatic and sustainable solutions with commercial benefit
  • Business translation to translate complex business needs leveraging deep knowledge and commercial acumen to ensure seamless communication between the business and technical teams
  • Awareness of the right technology to solve business needs deep understanding of database structure
