The Pricing Leader is a multifaceted professional who will lead pricing optimization projects across the Business Unit to optimize critical pricing capabilities such as pricing model development and optimization, value-based pricing, deal reviews, and pricing Delegation of Authority (DoA).
This serves as the owner and implementor of the Grid Software Pricing Policy and will be responsible to develop framework, guiding principles, systems, analytics & reporting to enable price realization and pricing governance.
The Pricing Leader will collaborate with Product Management to develop differentiated pricing models specific to how our customers value our offerings and will work in close partnership with the Sales & Commercial Ops leaders to continuously improve pricing models, dynamical adjust pricing models based on feedback from the field, measure pricing impacts, and operationalize and standardize the business’ approach to key pricing issues.
Has significant control/influence over commercial priorities and is a catalyst for increasing deal velocity and achieving operating targets of the business.
Roles and Responsibilities: Responsible for working in partnership with Product, Commercial, Marketing, Finance, and other functional teams, leverage competitive intelligence, to drive change and actions in the businesses approach to product and services pricing to better position GEV Grid Software in the marketplace.
• Support the deployment of end-to-end pricing process, from strategic considerations to actual price setting techniques, governance and supporting technology.
• Design, operationalize and maintain with the help of the technical teams, the organization pricing systems (CPQ)
• Drive positive product and services margins trends by balancing a combination of cost and price levers. Engage and lead cross-functional teams to achieve margins targets including but not limited to influencing price models/cost baseline, setting the right goals, generating ideas, and driving results. Optimize and leverage available tools to deliver results and advise product management investment strategies.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop corporate price modernization strategies and standards for the organization
• Partner with field sales to evaluate, create, and continuously improve functional processes and pricing models to reduce sales cycle time. This is achieved by leveraging your domain expertise to improve pricing models to adapt to market needs, requiring less approvals/customized pricing.
• Generate hypotheses for profit improvement opportunities, validate with data and facts, and develop deployment projects to capitalize on the opportunities.
• Lead pricing optimization projects and deploy strategic pricing capabilities for the various business units, aligning with their strategies, market dynamics and needs.
• Design pricing feedback tools and venues intended to add the voices of customers, partners, analysts and internal stakeholders to support pricing decisions.
• Own the governance and management of deal pricing & use KPI-based data for reporting. You will be responsible for ensuring pricing data hygiene (accuracy and completeness) as well as to create, curate, measure & report KPIs in the space of pricing governance in line with the latest DOA
• Develop tool framework, including dashboards for the most relevant and important key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare data to support regular pricing related metrics & reporting.
• Developing specialized knowledge of latest commercial developments in own area and communication skills to influence others. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
• Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
• Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, campaigns or customers. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Required Qualifications
Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED) with at least 10 years of experience in product management, commercial management, finance or pricing.

• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
• Ability to reach to a decision with a less than perfect fact base, relying on pragmatism combined with logical reasoning
• Experience as a business user/analyst working with large scale data with a strong attention to detail.
• Experience recognizing business problems and developing solutions, business and finance acumen. Highly driven, independent individual with an execution focus and a strong sense of urgency in a rapidly changing environment
• Ability to both execute directly and prioritize the work of a cross-functional team.
• Ability to move seamlessly back and forth between strategy, planning and execution.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to lead and influence cross functionally toward execution of strategic initiatives and projects.
