We are seeking a dynamic individual to join us as a Business Development & Product Manager to drive overall company growth and provide territory responsibilities in Europe. This position involves up to 25% travel within Europe and occasional (10%) intercontinental travel.
Your role and responsibilities include:
- Manage direct and partner sales activities in Europe
- Manage key accounts in Europe
- Representation of company products and services at exhibitions in Europe
- Manage and lead European customer-site, virtual and in-house product demonstrations
- Exceed sales goals and provide regular reporting and insights
- Build strategic partnerships and manage relationships with key opinion leaders in Europe
- Lead external scientific collaborations in Europe to support application development
- Conduct internal application development planning and management
- Perform market research and analysis
- Develop go-to-market strategy for a new verticals and drive associated marketing campaigns and content creation
Your profile
The ideal candidate will have at least a MS in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, physics, bioengineering, or similar, and have at least 3 years of experience in an application-oriented or scientific role (PhD would count towards this), and at least 4 years of business development and sales experience. The candidate will be capable of working both independently and collaboratively in cross-disciplinary teams. They should be able to positively contribute to the team effort as well as be self-motivated and proactive in concluding their assigned tasks according to the company goals.
Required skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to adapt positively to change and proactively contribute to new strategies, new processes and new content development
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and exercise sound independent judgement to efficiently advance the most critical next steps
- Strong and confident public speaking and presentation skills and adept at influencing others
- High energy and demonstrated networking and sales skills
- Strong professional communication skills including excellent written and spoken English; French and/or German fluency is advantageous
- High level of organization, attention to detail and a track record of successful project management
- Swiss/EU citizenship or valid working permit for Switzerland
- Valid Passport and driver’s license
Experience in one or several of the following areas is advantageous:
- Managing sales or business development in a smaller company
- Market launch of new analytical instrumentation
- Rheology and/or particle size characterization
- Public tendering process for research equipment
- Managing one or more employees
