Prorate
is the mechanism that allocates revenues for interline transportation and the
IATA Prorate Agency co-ordinates airlines agreements and facilitates settlement
in respect of these revenues.
Reporting to the Head, Passenger Standards as required, the Prorate Agent is responsible for all activities of the IATA Prorate Agency with special emphasis on, but not limited to, all publications, research & development with making proposals for improving efficiencies, technical and administrative matters, and accounting for both pertaining to the Prorate Agency activities and interline settlement.
The
Prorate Agent will handle all matters relating to the general management of the
Prorate Agency. This involves the following:
Maintaining Multilateral Prorate Agreements Cargo and Passenger.
Presiding as Chairman of General and Special Prorate Meetings, developing and circulating the agenda for such meetings, coordinating with the Interline Prorate Advisory Committee (IPAC) on matters relating to the Prorate Agency and working groups.
Acting as the prime interface between the Agency and the Interline Prorate Advisory Committee, Financial Steering Committee, and Prorate Manual Review Group.
Managing all contracts with data providers.
Handling daily prorate factor calculations and ensure timely publication of prorate manuals passenger and cargo.
Resolution of carrier disputes.
Managing all matters relating to the budget for the Agency.
Maintaining the accounts for expenses and income of the Prorate Agency.
University degree desirable or equivalent experience;
Minimum of 5 years experience, preferably with airline commercial and/or accounting procedures experience;
Ability to work independently, under pressure and to tight deadlines;
Ability to interact effectively with people from different levels and cultures within and outside the organization;
Well organized with excellent English communication skills; additional languages would be an asset:
Excellent data processing skills (MS Office, database queries)
Flexible to travel occasionally.
