Role Summary:

We are seeking an innovative and strategic leader for the role of Global Head of Power & Gas Analytics. This position will be pivotal in driving cutting-edge analytics and decision-making support within our Power & Gas trading division.

The role oversees a dynamic team of 12-15 analysts and leverages advanced technologies, including AI and machine learning, to maintain and enhance our competitive edge in the trading industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy:

• Lead, inspire, and develop a team of analysts specializing in Power & Gas markets.

• Define the strategic direction for analytics, ensuring alignment with trading and broader organizational goals.

• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.

Analytical Excellence:

• Oversee the development of advanced analytical models to support trading strategies, risk management, and market predictions.

• Utilize AI, machine learning, and big data technologies to uncover actionable insights.

• Ensure robust, timely, and accurate analytics outputs that support short-term, medium-term, and long-term trading decisions.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with the trading desk, risk management, and IT teams to ensure analytics are aligned with real-time market needs.

• Present key insights and recommendations to the desk head and senior stakeholders.

• Collaborate with external technology partners and internal IT teams to enhance data infrastructure and toolsets.

Market Intelligence:

• Monitor global Power & Gas market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.

• Develop and maintain proprietary models and analytics to stay ahead of market developments.

• Proactively identify emerging risks and opportunities in Power & Gas trading markets.

Technology & Innovation:

• Drive the adoption of AI and advanced analytics technologies within the analytics team.

• Lead the integration of new data sources and technologies to enhance trading strategies.

• Ensure that analytical tools and methodologies are state-of-the-art and continually evolve to meet market demands.

Profile

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.

• 10+ years of experience in energy trading analytics, with a strong focus on Power & Gas markets.

• Proven leadership experience, including managing and developing high-performing teams.

• Strong proficiency in analytics platforms, programming languages (Python, R), and data visualization tools.

• Deep understanding of AI, machine learning, and data modeling techniques relevant to trading.

• Familiarity with trading platforms and market data systems such as Eikon, Bloomberg, or similar.

• In-depth knowledge of Power & Gas markets, including market drivers, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory landscapes.

• Experience in leveraging analytics to support trading in volatile and complex market environments.

• Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment.
