360 Labs Initiative at a Glance
The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED ). The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cutting-edge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.
Operating as an integrated ecosystem, the 360 Lab environment will deliver core scientific technologies, expertise and enabling activities, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing and learning experiences in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. Together, these efforts will serve to increase the speed, enhance the robustness and improve the sustainability of our exploratory research and early discovery activities.

Job Mission and Impact
The Genomics Core Technology Platform within the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking to expand its team with an experienced, highly motivated, collaborative, and customer-centric Spatial Genomics Scientist specializing in advanced spatial transcriptomics methods and their application to early drug discovery projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the life sciences and brings cutting-edge expertise in one or various approaches, such as 10x Visium (HD) and Xenium, MERFISH, Slide-seq, Stereo-Seq, CosMX, and GeoMX, generating spatial gene expression data. You will work with urgency as part of a matrix team, collaborating with experts across various therapeutic disease areas and functions to provide spatial transcriptomics insights into early drug discovery efforts and will contribute to the ongoing development of the Genomics Core Technology Platform within the pRED organization.
Your Role and Responsibilities

You will be accountable for the planning, design, and execution of spatial transcriptomics workflows, with a focus on implementing and optimizing both routine and custom spatially-resolved transcriptomics techniques;

You will ensure the continued production of high-quality research data by performing regular quality control and troubleshooting of spatial transcriptomics experiments and related instrumentation;

You will embrace a continuous learning mindset by actively engaging with the scientific literature to stay abreast of emergent technologies/approaches in the spatial transcriptomics field.
Your Profile

You hold either a MS or a PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field, with 6-8 years or 2-4 years of professional experience, respectively, focused on spatial transcriptomics, either in an academic setting or within a core genomics-focused group in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry;

You have significant practical, hands-on experience in implementing, optimizing, and executing both routine and custom-designed assays with spatial transcriptomics devices, such as the 10x Genomics Visium, Xenium or similar, in a rigorous and reproducible manner;

You have a proven ability to collaborate within and across matrix teams, including molecular biologists, research histopathologists, and bioinformaticians, to design spatial transcriptomics experiments and interpret results.
