With the purpose of driving consistency and excellence in commercialisation capability building, ensuring that the right future-relevant mindsets, knowledge & skills are built efficiently & effectively across Pharma International, Roche created the Commercialisation Capabilities Center of Excellence. As a centralised cross-functional team with a strong track record in developing and implementing commercial capability building programs, this group will bring together dedicated people with diverse specialised expertise to enable consistent, sustainable and effective Commercialisation Capability Building across Disease Areas in Pharma International.

The Opportunity:

As the CoE Learning Operations Lead, you are a strategic leader driving the alignment of the CoE’s learning programs with the overall business strategy of Pharma International, anticipating and responding to evolving business requirements by developing and adapting capabilities. With extensive collaboration with senior leaders, General Managers, Area Heads, and global Capability leaders to create, standardise, and implement core and common solutions across top markets, you ensure that the short, mid and long-term outcomes developed with the CoE team are sustained and impactful. Your main responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Strategic Alignment and Program Design: Ensure the Commercialisation Capability learning program aligns with the overall strategy and roadmap, embed future-facing learning programs across Pharma International, and develop strategic partnerships across the network to support capability building and deliver high-impact solutions.

  • Lead Strategic Learning Initiatives: Formulate and lead the implementation of learning strategies aligned with organisational goals and commercialization needs, while influencing senior leaders and stakeholders to support and adopt these initiatives.

  • Direct the Adaptation of Capabilities: Direct the development and refinement of learning programs to meet evolving business needs, and guide the CoE’s response to external market trends and internal priorities, ensuring agility and relevance.

  • Advise and Coach: Act as an advisor to senior leaders on learning and development best practices, and coach senior leaders, capability leads, and team members to foster continuous learning and skill enhancement.

  • Leadership and Collaboration:

    • Lead learning operations by fostering deep partnerships across affiliates and functions within Roche Pharma to maximise enterprise impact, and catalyse a network of commercial capability and business enabling teams to influence others in complex, above-country models.

    • Responsible for coaching, developing, and engaging operations teams in affiliates and across functions to ensure the local impact of learning solutions. Enable talent and resources to flow to prioritised, high-impact work within and beyond the CoE.

    • Sponsor multiple work packages (WPs), ensuring strategic alignment and validating outputs in line with business outcomes. Provide clear direction and focus for the team, ensuring deliverables for priority areas are completed, issues are escalated, and risks are assessed and mitigated appropriately.

    • Foster collaboration across multiple functions within Pharma International, Affiliates, GPS, PDMA, USCMG to drive alignment and ensure effective implementation of learning solutions.

    • Develop and create an inspiring culture and a great place to work by leading, acting, and living our Operating Principles in all aspects of work, inclusive of employee engagement and promoting a culture of inclusivity and belonging.

    • Execute experiments and initiatives to implement the operating model, enabling team adaptation and optimal performance. Ensure delivery of high-quality training across multiple functional and cross-functional areas to drive business outcomes. Execute with excellence and identify fit-for-purpose solutions that accelerate the business.

    • Identify and mitigate risks in capability programs during development and delivery, and ensure team compliance with all governing laws, regulations, policies, and procedures at Pharma International.

    • Seek capability-building trends, L&D innovations, and thought leadership. Actively share knowledge and best practices across the organisation. Monitor department health, diagnose challenges, co-create solutions, and facilitate change management for consistent adoption. Balance cost, risks, and benefits of investment decisions with an enterprise perspective.

Who you are:

  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Learning & Development, or a related field.

  • You have a Project Management Professional certification or an equivalent of 8-10 years of Project Management experience is desirable. You have experience in constructing a PMO and process & resource optimization.

  • Certified in a change management methodology or experience in change management is desirable

  • With proven experience in a leadership role within a learning and development or capability-building function, you demonstrate ability to align learning programs with business strategy and drive long-term outcomes and experience in leading cross-functional teams and fostering partnerships within a complex networked organisation.

  • You demonstrate experience leading and navigating across a matrixed team and can quickly organise functional teams to develop and deliver learning projects.

  • Ideally, you have experience across different functions in a multinational organisation, experience in life science in a multinational organisation is desirable

  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, you have proven ability to diagnose issues/needs and develop appropriate strategies and coach actions to address the needs.

  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, change management, project, and employee management.

  • Ability to streamline or implement structures and roles that boost speed and efficiency while supporting rapidly shifting business demands/priorities.

  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.

  • With strong presentation, interpersonal communication, and facilitation skills, you have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • You are proficient in English.
