Do you have a strong interest in international trade and sustainability topics?
Are you self-motivated and proactive in staying informed about new developments and regulations in the field? Are you looking for an opportunity to grow, develop and improve your skillset?
If so, Deloitte’s Global Trade Advisory team is looking for you!
How you can make an impact
As part of our team of dedicated trade compliance professionals, you will focus on ensuring companies comply with regulatory requirements in global trade. This encompasses three key pillars: 1. Customs process optimization and compliance, 2. sanctions, embargoes, and export controls, as well as 3. sustainability regulations. While a general interest in all three topics is expected, your main focus will be on driving forward the sustainability pillar. This includes regulations such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the EU Regulation on Deforestation (EUDR), Forced Labor regulations, and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Understanding the legal and technical requirements of emerging sustainability regulations and translating them into business requirements
- Driving and coordinating client projects related to these regulations
- Supporting clients in collecting and evaluating relevant data across their business and along their supply chain
- Designing and implementing the required governance, processes and systems to ensure compliance and operational continuity for our clients
- To support client projects related to pillars 1 and 2 as mentioned above
You will also conduct research on legal topics, develop new service offerings in the field and be involved in marketing activities.
Who we are looking for
- You have a background in law, international relations, compliance or sustainability studies. We also welcome candidates with diverse educational backgrounds
- You have professional experience, ideally related to sustainability, supply chain or international trade
- You have entrepreneurial spirit, openness, communication and organizational skills and the ability to transform new regulatory developments into service offerings and to collaborate with other service teams
- You have a passion to read and understand legal requirements and an interest to explore their practical implications for businesses operations
- You are able to communicate fluently (professional) in English. French and German language would be an advantage
Your team
You will be joining a diverse, welcoming and international team of customs and trade compliance professionals, international trade lawyers and compliance officers. Each team member brings their unique strengths and character, and while you will primarily drive the sustainability pillar, you will also support other projects. Notably, you will have the opportunity to make a mark by pioneering new sustainability projects, build your profile on sustainability initiatives, and use your creativity so that your ideas make an impact.
