Managers leave various internal organizations to the teams themselves, which often leads to disputes. If a team lead does not actively support the team in delicate situations, i.e. does not lead, then the team lead is not fulfilling their task. Unfortunately, I have seen this with various supervisors.
It's frightening how much unpleasant gossip there is within the team about one's own team colleagues when an employee is only on a short break. I think it's a shame when managers don't intervene in such situations and just go along with it.
