About us Aquilana Insurance, based in Baden and founded in 1892, is an independent insurance company in the legal form of an association. As a health insurer recognised by the federal government, we are subject to the Health Insurance Act (KVG) and the Insurance Contract Act (VVG). Our area of activity with a total of around 88,000 insured persons covers the whole of Switzerland. We have a strong regional presence in the cantons of Aargau and Zurich. As part of the bilateral agreements (free movement of persons), we also offer compulsory health insurance to persons resident in certain EU countries who are subject to compulsory health insurance under the KVG. We have a solid financial basis and are reinsured by the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Health Insurers (RVK) in the event of significant cost risks.
