This works well in the company
The infrastructure is very modern and mobile working is an integral part of the work culture. GS1 offers the employee a great deal of freedom. The working atmosphere is pleasant for the most part and catering is always provided.
This could be improved
The biggest problem at GS1 Switzerland is a lack of structure. Often no precise processes are defined or are not adhered to. The company sees itself as an agile project organization. In my opinion, there is not really much agility in this company. The management is not dynamic but static and not ready to adapt to new circumstances. Decisions are made without much thought, which can lead to big problems when something complex is involved. Decisions are made even though experts in the field advise against them and make counter-proposals. Nevertheless, the employees are allowed to get on with the job and criticism of GL is not accepted.

Many thanks for the good marks in terms of infrastructure and working atmosphere. That makes us happy! As far as the lack of structure and processes is concerned, we agree with you in part. About a year and a half ago, we started a process to realign our association with the aim of establishing an agile project organization with clear processes. Such a project takes some time and is fraught with many uncertainties. The expectations and needs of "long-established" older and newer, possibly also younger employees are naturally very different. We have always endeavored to accompany our employees in the process as well as possible. There should also be room for criticism and concerns. It will take about half a year until the restructuring of GS1 Switzerland is completed and all processes are established. However, we are sure that we will benefit from these efforts by then.
