This works well in the company
I was able to complete my apprenticeship as a computer scientist specializing in systems engineering at CS Computing. During my 4-year apprenticeship, I was able to take on many exciting tasks. You get involved in day-to-day business and customer contact relatively early on, which was very exciting for me. During the first two years of my apprenticeship, this mainly related to private and smaller corporate customers. In the second and third years, the focus was increasingly on corporate customers. Immediately afterwards, I was offered an attractive employment contract (part-time further training, e.g. in the form of a degree course, would also have been possible), which I accepted until my military service. During this time, I took on corporate client support tasks. You are given a lot of trust and responsibility. However, if you didn't know what to do, the trainer or the team always stood behind you and provided support where possible. The team spirit was great, and we celebrated this at regular team events or at lunch together. In conclusion, I was able to gain a wide range of experience. From preparing quotations, order processing and invoicing to server projects and insights into the introduction of new products.

Searching for "older" items during stocktaking was sometimes a bit tedious ;)

I successfully completed my training at CS-Computing and continued to work there, which eventually led to me becoming team leader and training manager. I learned many of the principles that I still use today from Fabian. It wasn't always easy, but looking back now I understand even better that he had my best interests at heart, and I would also like to believe that he became an even better manager because of me. My colleagues at CS-Computing were always very helpful and friendly, and we always had a strong team culture. Building a "small" IT consulting company with many regional larger competitors around you is not easy, and CS-Computing's true customer focus remains one of their key competitive advantages.

Back then, the work was a lot and required you to be very efficient.

You are welcomed into an open and warm team. The direct team leaders are always eager to help and do their best. If you need help, you get it. In my time, we also went out for lunch together every Friday, which was very good for team cohesion. You work in offices with two to three people with satisfactory equipment. The working hours are flexible and you have the option of working from home.

As written in the title, the many promises made by the managing director are rarely realized. The salary is low for the sometimes high workload and a lot of responsibility and a promised bonus is never paid out or only in a small amount. Many further training courses and career opportunities are also advertised. However, the training courses were mostly only internal or with partner companies and very few in number. There is the possibility of being promoted, but usually with little or no pay rise. Finally, the whole situation is reflected in staff turnover. There are a few who have been with us for a very long time. However, the clerks are constantly changing.

Thank you for your feedback - which, by the way, bears an interesting resemblance to the one from November 2023. It's probably been many years since you worked for us. Employee participation is a key aspect of our company. We have regulations that can be viewed by all employees and the bonus is paid out to everyone in a spirit of solidarity. Incidentally, when it comes to wages, we also place great emphasis on fair pay and use a standardized wage system. If you are an applicant reading this: We will clarify your salary expectations with you in the initial phase of the application process to ensure a clear starting position. Employees also have many opportunities for further training and can benefit from a high degree of flexibility, e.g. in the case of part-time studies or courses. We promote further training and, thanks to our broad field of activity, also offer many opportunities to expand your know-how extensively. We have also offered many career changers the opportunity to establish themselves in IT. Our apprentices, whom we have been training for many years, are often among the best in their year. How long have you been with us? In addition to our older and more experienced employees, we also have many young specialists in our team. It is (unfortunately) common for people to look for other challenges after a few years. However, we are not aware of any constant turnover and we employ technicians, not clerks. Incidentally, we also have seniority gifts as part of our benefits, where we pay for vacations as well as time off. Why don't you come by for a coffee?

The employees are good and cordial people. If you leave out the financial side, the boss is also a cool guy. A bit "rough around the edges", but that's just computer scientists. It's a sociable get-together and 99% of the time you get support if you ask for it. You can partly work from home and you also get the necessary equipment. In addition to the managing director, you also have team leaders who act as a good interface between the managing director and employees. The team leaders care about your well-being and I can speak from personal experience that they have your back.

The main problem is that you have a low salary for high stress and a lot of responsibility. However, the manager promises that the low salary will be compensated by a bonus. However, depending on the year, you don't get a bonus at all. And if you do get a bonus, it never adds up to the average wage in the industry. On-call duty is only paid when a call comes in. You are not compensated for being on call. With promotions, in some cases there was no pay rise or only a small one. The managing director said: "It's a cool experience for you too!". When the employees started to talk openly among themselves, we realized that some members of the management team were earning even less than the average salary of a computer scientist. And this was not compensated for by the bonus, as it didn't come at all or was low. However, a lot of work and responsibility is put on the table. On the one hand, this is very cool and interesting, but as already mentioned, you are simply paid too little for the great responsibility. This job and employer is not for the faint-hearted.

Thank you for your feedback - which, by the way, bears an interesting resemblance to the one from January 2024. The 2 stars are very harsh considering the positive mentions. It's probably been many years since you worked for us. We are not a company from the financial sector, the bonus is an appreciation of the employees, everyone can get involved and then benefit from it. We have regulations that can be viewed by all employees and the bonus is paid out to everyone in a spirit of solidarity. Incidentally, when it comes to wages, we also place great importance on fair pay and use a standardized wage system that is reviewed annually. We believe in paying fair wages and also offer various benefits. If you are an applicant reading this: We will clarify your salary expectations with you in the initial phase of the application process to ensure a clear starting position. On-call duty used to be remunerated differently. We only have a few customers with on-call requirements and these are not 7/24. On-call duty is now also compensated, assignments are rare and are generously remunerated. Why don't you drop by for a coffee?
