movemi AG is the largest gym provider in Switzerland. Based in Zurich-Oerlikon, the company brought together the ACTIV FITNESS and Fitnesspark brands under one roof. More than 4,300 employees work at 132 gyms across Switzerland and represent the densest network of studios in Switzerland. Some 250,000 members currently train 365 days a year in both gym formats. The name “movemi” is made up of a combination of the English word “move” and the syllable “mi”. When said out loud in English, this means “to get me moving”. This name represents the two brands equally and also states the aim of the company – to get people moving. Fitnesspark and ACTIV FITNESS will continue to exist as prominent brands. Members and people interested in exercising will thus continue to see, hear and read about these gym brands as usual. The movemi AG corporate unit, however, will be visible when concluding contracts, publishing company information and sending media enquiries. It will also provide information about the state of affairs within the two fitness centre formats.
