Vadec est une société anonyme d'intérêt public dontla mission historique est la gestion, l'élimination et la valorisationthermique des déchets incinérables. Elle apporte des solutions durables etefficientes à sa zone d'apport, desservant près de 350'000 habitants répartissur 4 cantons: Neuchâtel, Jura, Berne avec la partie du Jura bernois et Vaudavec le Nord vaudois.
Vadec exploite 2 usines de valorisationthermique des déchets, les UVTD de LaChaux-de-Fonds et de Colombier. Plus de 110'000 tonnes de déchetscombustibles et des boues de STEP y sont collectés et traités par incinération.
Vadec valorise l’énergie thermique en produisant plusieursdizaines de milliers de MWh d'électricité et de la chaleur pouralimenter deux réseaux de chauffage à distance (CAD) à LaChaux-de-Fonds et à Colombier, permettant ainsi une importanteéconomie d’énergies fossiles.
