QA Automation Lead

Join the SoftwareOne Marketplace Platform Team as the QA Automation Lead and be a part of a team known for their hardworking and dedicated work ethic. This is a unique opportunity to work within our dynamic QA Department, closely collaborating with Development, Product Management, Technical Support, and Customer Success teams. Your role will be crucial in ensuring our Marketplace Platform meets the highest standards of quality by supercharging the QA Department and their ability to deliver at scale and with speed. Quality is a shared responsibility, and your contributions will ensure that everyone on the team is focused on delivering world-class products. 

Remote role - Ireland, Spain, UK or Poland (Fulltime Only)

• Design, develop, implement and maintain comprehensive test automation frameworks across various testing layers (UI, API, database) 

• Create, enhance and execute a long-term test automation strategy, both conceptually and working hands-on 

• Research, evaluate, and implement new automation tools and technologies to enhance test efficiency 

• Identify test automation opportunities, analyze test coverage, and optimize test suites for maximum efficiency 

• Optimize test frameworks for reusability, maintainability, and speed to provide rapid feedback on application quality 

• Mentor and guide the QA team in adopting automation best practices, providing technical leadership and support 

• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing within the QA team through training and documentation. 

• Proven experience as an Automation Lead Engineer with a strong track record of building and implementing automation frameworks 

• Expertise in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript) and test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Jest, xUnit, NSubstitute, FluentAssertions, Autofixture C#, PyTest/PyTest-BDD, Nose2). 

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) 

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub) and modern branching strategies. 

• Ability to lead and mentor QA engineers 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as ability to collaborate with various roles in an Engineering organisation (Developers, Architects, Product Manager etc.)
