The Position
The rAAV DSP (Senior) Research Associate will be involved in the purification of recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) within the Viral Technology team in the NABM-Genomic Medicine department at pRED. Besides supporting rAAV purification, the candidate will be involved in process and analytical development to improve the current production platform as well as research experiments related to the field. Additionally, the individual may contribute to the implementation of documentation, production scale up, troubleshooting and data analysis in order to support the supply of research-grade rAAV vectors.
This position is a key participant in the day-to-day operation and planning of rAAV vector purification related work, with primary responsibility to execute established protocols of manufacturing research grade rAAV vectors. The individual in the role will participate in, but not be limited to, purification of rAAV vectors including cell lysis, clarification, tangential flow filtration (TFF), column chromatography, gradient centrifugation, vector formulation.
Additionally, the individual may contribute to the implementation of documentation, production scale up, troubleshooting and data analysis in order to support research rAAV vector manufacturing.
The requirements of the position:

BSc or MSc in Biotechnology, Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or related discipline; MSc preferred

2+ years relevant work experience in the life sciences industry

Hands-on experience working with viral vectors

Good knowledge and experience of purification of biopharmaceutical products, particularly with AKTA Pilot, AKTA AVANT, column chromatography, ultracentrifugation, microfluidization

Experience in BSL2 environments

Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
