Job description
The Event Manager is responsible for identifying opportunities to connect with the local community and creating, conceptualizing, planning, leading and executing the most amazing events in the country that are the talk in town to strengthen IKEA’s brand visibility, brand positioning and brand attachment. The Event Manager coordinates internal and external teams to deliver memorable and impactful events that resonate with the many people.
- Identify key external opportunities to connect with the local community through topics that are important to people.
- Develop, plan and implement an Annual Event plan that includes the most amazing events in the region to be the talk in town to grow IKEA’s brand visibility, brand positioning and brand attachment
- Lead a competent and reliable event team that can execute plans efficiently and professionally, ensuring high-quality event and seamless execution delivery.
- Engage and coordinate the different IKEA multifunctional teams to secure a successful result.
- Establish and maintain relationships with potential collaborators across various community sectors to expand IKEA reach and influence by partnering with key stakeholders, enhancing the overall impact and relevance of events.
- Optimize resource allocation and ensure that events are delivered within budget and on schedule, maximizing ROI by managing event budgets and schedules to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.
- Secure events attendance, engagement and coverage, ensuring a relevant connection with the right opinion leaders and audiences to maximize reach, participation and impact.
- Secure the successful execution of events, coordinating all aspects and aiming to deliver seamless and memorable event experiences that reflect positively on the IKEA brand and meet the function goals and brand positioning objectives.
- Ensure budget optimization control and reporting by maintaining detailed records of all event-related expenditures.
- Assess the effectiveness of each event, identifying learnings and areas of improvement. Demonstrate and present the value and impact of events to stakeholders.
- Guarantee the safety and security of all event participants and adhere to all legal requirements, minimizing risk and liability for IKEA and securing an unforgettable experience for everyone.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, Marketing and PR.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in PR, event management.
- Proven track record of successfully planning and executing large-scale events.
- Experience in managing and negotiating with vendors and service providers.
- Strong networking and customer service skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify and mitigate potential legal liabilities related to events.
