360 Labs Initiative at a Glance
The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED ). The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cutting-edge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.
The 360 Labs will deliver core scientific technologies, expertise and enabling activities, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. The Opportunity
The Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform in the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, collaborative, and customer-centric lab-based scientific professional with a focus on biomarker discovery and validation. The successful candidate will have a robust background in the life sciences and will lead the development and application of scalable targeted, high-plex and untargeted protein assays for investigative biomarker discovery efforts. You will work with a sense of urgency as a part of a matrix team, collaborating and interfacing with experts from each of our therapeutic disease areas and functions to drive efforts in early biomarker identification and validation. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of biomarker discovery capabilities in the Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform.
Your Role and Responsibilities

You will develop and implement scalable targeted and untargeted protein assays using both MS-based and non-MS based methods, in liquid biopsies, tissues and in vitro model systems, to enable the discovery and validation of biomarkers of disease biology, supporting the identification of new targets and elucidation of drug mechanism of action;

You will drive collaborative biomarker discovery efforts across our different therapeutic disease areas, maintaining accountability for the timely implementation of assays and generation of project reports, along with engaging with key stakeholders to present and discuss findings in a dynamic and flexible manner;

You will act as an ambassador and technical expert for in-house and outsourced activities covering both experimental study design and analytical frameworks in the biomarker discovery space;

You will embrace a culture of continuous learning by actively engaging with the latest scientific literature to stay at the forefront of emergent technologies/approaches in the biomarker discovery field; present findings and updates to internal stakeholders and at scientific conferences (where appropriate), ensuring cutting-edge expertise is cultivated and maintained.
Who you are
-
You hold a PhD degree in Biochemistry or a related field, with extensive post-doctoral research experience in biomarker discovery and validation, preferably within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry;

You are a highly skilled experimentalist with the aptitude to design and execute complex studies using targeted and untargeted MS- and non-MS-based approaches (e.g. NULISA, Olink) with deep experience in assay validation and the implementation of lab automation solutions;

You have exceptional competency in the processing, analysis and interpretation of both MS- and non-MS-based datastreams.
