Hitachi Energy’s Grid Automation (GA) business unit is seeking a Global Portfolio Marketing Leader for its Global Product Group (GPG), Automation & Communication (AC). The Automation & Communication GPG celebrates global leadership with its extensive portfolio of products, systems, and services for substation and distribution automation, as well as communications networks, addressing electric utilities and industrial and transportation customers operating electrical networks. In this role, you will define and oversee the global marketing strategy for the Automation & Communication portfolio, establishing the optimal representation of the portfolio across all Marketing and Communications activities, ensuring that the GPG business priorities and growth targets are met. Together with your stakeholders, you will leverage the portfolio’s value proposition to direct and inform portfolio content strategy, marketing mix, and the annual portfolio launch strategy. You are a data-driven strategic thinker, leveraging Key-Performance-Indicators to optimize your strategy according to marketing performance as well as changing market and competitive conditions.
How you’ll make an impact

Define, launch, and supervise the global marketing strategy for the AC GPG, ensuring business priorities are addressed and changing market and competitive conditions are monitored

Build relationships with cross-functional product, sales, and business development leadership to drive interlock and alignment with the marketing and communications organization

Define and oversee the portfolio marketing mix and content strategy to support all Marketing and Communication activities: website, core customer references, portfolio messaging, positioning, value proposition, customer personas, competitive benchmarking, and insights

Lead the continuous evaluation of marketing and communications investments and take corrective action when necessary

Lead the product launch strategy for the portfolio, ensuring full alignment with the go-to-market plan while optimizing resources internally and maximizing impact externally

Partner with other functions within Marketing and Communications – at the BU and corporate level – to deploy marketing and communications activities to achieve the GPG global growth targets

Develop and recommend portfolio positioning and promotional strategies to produce the highest possible long-term market share

Define and monitor relevant Key-Performance-Indicators for measuring the success of the deployed marketing strategies and for making informed decisions regarding any required changes in the strategies
Your background

Bachelor's degree in engineering or business and 10-12 years’ experience in product management, technical sales, or technical marketing. Strong technical acumen, with knowledge of industrial automation and communications required

Exceptional executive-level writing and presentation skills in English. Ability to analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents

Experience in analyzing marketing and sales data and using metrics extensively to evaluate, demonstrate, and support decision-making. Hands-on experience with Salesforce.com, Adobe Experience Manager and Analytics, AirTable, Power BI, and similar platforms and tools

Extensive experience in managing complex, long-range projects with multiple resources and stakeholders. Ability to navigate a fast-paced, complex, heavily matrixed global organization and earn exceptional levels of advocacy among collaborating teams and stakeholders
