Job Description:
· Develop complete design of electro-mechanical assemblies (3D) and 2D drawings of mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) for new product designs and modifications to existing products. Taking into account requirements such as:
o Electrical and electronic schematics
o Standards, tolerances, bolted and welded joints, mechanical stability
o Manufacturability
o Handling, installation, maintenance
o Propose efficient design solutions and alternatives. Show a proactive attitude toward design improvements.
· Design and optimize sheet metal components, enclosures, busbars, barriers, and other mechanical parts within switchgear systems.
· Conduct feasibility study and design analysis to ensure mechanical integrity and functionality.
· Create Detailed technical documentation including BOM’s (Bill Of Materials) and assembly drawings and maintain product data in ERP.
· Evaluate component selection and material properties to meet performance requirements and cost targets.
· Conduct Design review with Cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety and regulations. Maintain fluent interaction with team members located at local offices and international offices.
· Collaborate with project teams to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
· Manage design changes and updates throughout the product development cycle.
· Work with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
· Interpret customer specifications and requirements to customize designs for specific applications.
· Provide technical support to customers regarding product design and functionality.
Mandatory skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Power systems and general mechanical engineering background.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD Software.
- Strong understanding of Mechanical Design Principles.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution equipment and industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- PDM-Windchill (Preferred)
- Knowledge and proficiency in ERP tools (Oracle is a plus)
